TTCLM Round 3: Six times 3:0!

All six clashes held today, Oct 26th, have finished in straight games, winners are: Borussia, Pontoise, UMMC, Angers, Fakel Gazprom and Muhlhausen

 

All six Friday's clashes at the 2018/19 TTCLM have been lasted three games each: Borussia Dusseldorf – TTC Ostrava 2016 3:0, Sporting Clube de Portugal – AS Pontoise Cergy, TTSC UMMC – SPG Walter Wels 3:0, Vaillante Sports Angers TT – K.S. Dartom Bogoria Grodzisk Mazowiecki 3:0, TTC Fakel Gazprom – Eslovs Ai Bordtennis 3:0, Post SV Muhlhausen – G. V. Hennebont T.T. 3:0

 

Reigning champion lost just one set against Ostrava. Timo BOLL and Kristian KARLSSON prevailed in straight sets against Onderej BAJGER and Tomas TREGLER respectively, while Anton KALLBERG beat Petr KOLRBEL in four games. German club has improved its season’s win-loss record to 3-0, while Czech Republic champion continues without victory in Group A.

 

Former two-times TTCLM winner Pontoise made a big step towards quarter-finals, as they defeated away 2017/18 semi-finalist Sporting 3:0. All three duels have been extended to full distance. Tristan FLORE and Mattias FALCK have emerged victorious against Diogo CARVALHO and Quadri ARUNA in the first two matches, thus Bode ABOIDUN had a hard task to beat Can AKKUZU and keep his side alive. African player led 2:1, but young Frenchman managed to reverse the score and secure second win for Pontoise in Group A, while Sporting has 1-2 record.

 

UMMC continues unbeaten in Group B, in spite of losing first two sets in the clash against Walter Wels. Adam SZUDI stretched Jonathan GROTH to full distance, but other two encounters have been finished in straight games: Andrej GACINA vs. Deni KOZUL 3:0, Alexander SHIBAEV vs. Christian FRIEDRICH 3:0. It was third defeat in a row of Austrian side.

 

Angers moves closer to its best result ever, TTCLM quarter-finals, as they beat at home Bogoria. Jon PERSSON, Jens LUDQVIST and Joao GERALDO have secured big set-ratio, 9:2, what could be crucial in the battle for the first two spots in Group C. PERSSON and GIONIS have played very tense opener, but host won after full five games.

 

Four-times champion Fakel GAZPROM proved its quality in Group D, as they beat Eslovs 3:0 (9:0), playing without Dimitrij OVTCHAROV. Marcos FREITAS and YAN An beat two rising stars, Ioannis SGOUROPOULOS and Truls MOREGARD, while Vladimir SAMSONOV has concluded the match against ZHANG Fuzhou. It was third consecutive win for Orenburg.

 

TTCLM newcomer, Post SV Muhlhausen has imroved its win-loss record to 2-1, beating G. V. Hennebont T.T. 3:0. Lubomir JANCARIK has secured crucial point, as they defeated Liam PITCHFORD in the second clash, after full five games. Daniel HABESOHN and Steffen MENGEL prevailed against FAN Shengpeng and Georgios STAMATOUROS respectively.
