China`s LIANG Jingkun caused a huge upset today, June 1st, at the Seamaster 2018 ITTF World Tour Platinum, Kaisa China Open, by beating No. 2 seed Timo BOLL after full seven games 4:3 (5:11, 11:9, 12:10, 7:11, 4:11, 11:9, 11:5). LIANG, who overcame Frenchman Simon GAUZY in the Round of 32, is going to play in the quarter-finals against his compatriot, Olympic and World champion MA Long
Englishman Liam PITCHFORD extended actual World No. 9 Koki NIWA from Japan to full distance, while current individual European champion Emmanuel LEBESSON lost to top seed FAN Zhendong in straight games.
Four out of eight quarter-finalists are representing host nation. Korea and Japan have two players each.

European pair beat 2011 World champions 3:2 (11:9, 11:9, 4:11, 4:11, 12:10) to secure their place in the final encounter against No. 1 seed FAN Zhendong and LIN Gaoyuan from China.
