Yoto DRIANOVSKI award to Romania

Balkan Youth Championships

 

The most successful team at the Balkan Youth Championships held last weekend in Zenica is Romania. They have been awarded with the Yoto DRIANOVSKI award.

 

Filip RADOVIC of Montenegro clinched the title in the Junior Boys Singles Event at the Balkan Youth Championships in Zenica. Romania’s Dragos OPREA suffered by his hands in the final. Emir MUJIC of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Tugay YILMAZ won bronze.

 

In Juniors Boys Doubles Dragos OPREA and Mihai ZAMFIR of Romania are the new champions in the Region. Luka and Nikola MIHAILOVIC of Bosnia and Herzegovina are second. Both third positions are occupied by Turkey: Bilal Selim TOK, Tugay Sirzat YILMAZ and Umut Emre BASSAN, Ali Can SEKER.

 

In Junior Girls Event Turkey occupied all three positions at the medal rostrum. Gul Pembe OZKAYA won gold, Betul Nur KAHRAMAN won silver, Ece HARAC won bronze. Kalina HRISTOVA of Bulgaria also played in the semifinal.

 

Betul Nur KAHRAMAN also won gold in Junior Girls Doubles Event partnering Merve Nur OZTURK. In the final they beat Andreea HUDUSAN and Luiza POPESCU of Romania. Snezana MARKOVIC and Ivona Petric of Bosnia and Herzegovina won bronze as well as Kalina HRISTOVA and Ivet ILIEVA of Bulgaria.

 

In Junior Mixed Doubles Ali Can SEKER and Betul Nur KAHRAMAN won gold, their compatriots Umut Emre BASSAN and Gul Pembe OZKAYA won silver. Bronze medalists are: Dragos OPREA, Luiza POPESCU of Romania and Turkey’s Bilal Selim TOK and Aybuke ONER.

 

In cadet Boys Singles Event Iulian CHIRITA of Romania is first followed by compatriot Dragos Florin BUJOR at second position. Third are: Mitja OMERZEL of Slovenia and Ozgur YILMAZ of Turkey. In Doubles Iulian CHIRITA and Dragos Florin BUJOR clinched gold. They overcame Yucel OCAK and Ozgur YILMAZ of Turkey in the final. Turkey’s Ibrahim ATUG and Emir Baha SONMEZ as well as Vladimir PANDUREVIC and Ivano Toni RAMLJAK of Bosnia and Herzegovina were halted in semis.

 

Elena ZAHARIA of Romania is the winner of the Junior Girls Cadet Event. Radmila TOMINJAK of Serbia is second. Her compatriot Reka BEZEG is third an Natalia BRINZA of Moldova is also third. Elena ZAHARIA repeated the success in the doubles with Camelia MITROFAN. Reka BEZEG and Radmila TOMINJAK are second. Moldova’s Natalina and Vitlina BRINZA are third as well as Suhran CANGIR and Zeynep KARACA of Turkey.

 

Iulian CHIRITA and Elena ZAHARIA of Romania are the title winners in Mixed Doubles Event. Dragos Florin BUJOR and Camelia MITROFAN are second. Mitja OMERZEL and Nusa KADIS of Slovenia are third. Bronze medals went also to Stoyan SARIEV and Dimana NIKOLOVA of Bulgaria.
