10/04/2010 – Jorg ROSSKOPF had his farewell party as a player Friday evening. The 40-year-old World Doubles Champion from 1989 won his last home match for his DTTL club, TG Hanau, against Robertson SVENSSON playing for Fulda in five close games. Anyway his team lost by 1-3.

On Sunday ROSSKOPF will play the last match of his long and successful career in Saarbrucken to save Hanau from relegating to the second league.

After yesterday’s match family and friends honored the future men’s coach
of the German Table Tennis Association – in August ROSSKOPF will be the
successor of Richard PRAUSE who is going to join the Werner SCHLAGER
Academy in Austria as the head coach.

ROSSKOPF’S long-term doubles partner Steffen FETZNER and Germany’s former men’s coach Zlatko CORDAS came over from Qatar and followed match and ceremony with Timo BOLL. “I’m very moved, this is a very special moment for me,” said Jorg ROSSKOPF.
