Mirandela won their 21st National Championship
Mirandela won the Portuguese National championship, the 21st in the history of the club, by beating GDSC Juncal by 3-1 in the second leg of the Play off Final. Match took place in the Azorean Island of Terceira.
On the first leg, held in Mirandela, the new national champions won by 3-0.
The club, founded in 1990, won the National title in 1992/93, 1994/95, 1997/98, 1998/99, 2000/01, 2001/02, 2002/03, 2004/05, 2005/06, 2006/07, 2007/08, 2008/09, 2009/10, 2010/11, 2011/12, 2012/13, 2014/15, 2016/17, 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2020/21.
Coach XIE Juan, said “This season went as we expected, although we had a few setups with one of our foreign players. We prepared the whole season very well. On the Final, we played really well on the first game and came to Azores prepared for everything. We were much focused and we showed our strength, our focus and our power to win.”
