In a pioneering initiative, the European Table Tennis Union (ETTU) collaborated with the French Table Tennis Federation (FFTT) to launch the first-ever virtual event in 2023 - the European Virtual Table Tennis Challenge.

The tournament began with the group stages played in virtual mode from October 2023 and continued with the knockout stage played in November. The final stage, featuring the last 16 players, was held in Düsseldorf, Germany on 12-14 January 2024.

Emerging victorious from the virtual battleground, Anto of France secured the prestigious title at the first-ever European Virtual Table Tennis Challenge.
