Luxembourg hosts 2017 European Championships Team Events

The Championships will be held from 13th to17th September 2017

 

European Table Tennis Union is pleased to announce the 2017 ITTF European Championships Team Events will be hosted by the Luxembourg Table Tennis Association (FLTT) at the d'Coque, the indoor arena in Kirchberg in the City of Luxembourg. The Championships will be held from 13th to17th September 2017.

 

 

It is the decision confirmed at the ETTU Executive Board meeting held in Zagreb during the European Youth Championships.

 

 

“In 2017 , in the year of the 60th anniversary of ETTU for a first time Luxembourg as the official seat of ETTU will host European Championships. I am more than confident that the organisers will comply with the requirements of the tournament, having already successfully staged the Olympic Qualification tournament in April 2012,” stated ETTU President Ronald KRAMER.

 

 

Over the last decades, the FLTT has shown on several occasions its ability for organising table tennis highlights under the best conditions -European Youth Championships in 1989; European Youth Top 12 in 1998 ; European Olympic Qualifying Tournanement in 2003 & 2012.

 

 

‘We wish to express our thanks to the ETTU Executive Board for having granted our Federation the confidence and the honor to become the organiser of the ITTF European Championships for teams in 2017. Hosting the European Championships in Luxembourg is an important milestone in history of the Federation. It will help as well to increase awareness of the 60th anniversary of the European Table Tennis Union, as well as have an important impact on the host country and on the City of Luxembourg in regard to sports, economy, tourism and nation branding,” said André HARTMANN President of the Luxembourg Table Tennis Federation.
