2018 ETTU Hopes Selection Camp Luxembourg In cooperation with ETTU and Development Manager CTTC / FLTT organised ETTU Hopes Selection Camp 2018 for the ETTU players born 2006 / 2007 in Luxembourg from April 2nd – 9th 2018. The total of 30 players (15 girls 15 boys) from 14 NA’s and 8 practice partners (18 coaches in total) participated during the eight days of work. “In recent years ITTF ETTU CTTA and CTTC are committed to cadet and junior table tennis development in the European and even the world and invested a great deal of strength to that purpose. Many training camps activities gave a significant effect. Due to the fact that most participants are 10-12 years old and at the beginning of their playing careers their basics and fundamentals are relatively weak this training camp was very important for them. Therefore on requests of the ETTU the objectives of the camp were to: help young players learn fundamental knowledge of the sport of table tennis grasp the proper strokes of individual skills acquire and establish training methods of fundamentals and core skills experience the competition system enhance tournament capabilities raise coaching skills through discussions with trainers ” stated in the report signed by Head Coach (CTTC / FLTT) Martin OSTERMANN. SST Euromilk Dunajska Streda secured fourth title in the Slovak Women’s National League in Bratislava. In the final they overcame KST Viktoria Trnava. SKST Ruzomberok beat STO Valaliky to reach the position no. three. It is fourth title for SST Euromilk Dunajska Streda wich is famous for special line up. Marta DAUBNEROVA bronze medal winner in Women’s Singles 50 to 59 years at the 2017 European Veteran Championship in Helsingborg lined up alongside daughters Simona VERESKA and Andrea DAUBNEROVA. It was the second team national title for the Marta DAUBNEROVA. In 1988 the same year as her daughter Simona was born representing Lokomotiva Bratislava she had emerged successful. Notably it was the first such title for Simona Vereska; for Andrea DAUBNEROVA Cadet Mixed Doubles silver medallist in partnership with Mattias ÖVERSJÖ at the 2006 European Youth Championship 2006 it was her fourth in the colours of SST Euromilk Dunajska Streda.

ITTF’s Social Media Ranked Second Best Out of All Olympic Sports
The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has been ranked second on the 2018 #SportOnSocial Ranking chart by REDTORCH which analyzes the presence and performance of 35 IOC recognized International Sport Federations on Facebook Instagram Twitter and Youtube between 1 March 2017 to 28 February 2018. The ITTF who has now over 2.6 million social media fans around the world has climbed eight places from 2017 to settle at second place in the 2018 ranking finishing second on both Facebook and Youtube after World Rugby. ITTF President Thomas WEIKERT stated “It was one of my promises to continue developing ITTF’s media and promotional efforts and I am thrilled to see that my team’s hard work and dedication is rewarded in being shown second in this social index. We will continue to focus on media and promotion and I look forward to seeing even more growth over the next 12 months.” Jonny MURCH CEO of REDTORCH said “The ITTF had a strong year on social media climbing 8 places in the Rankings Table from 2017 partly due to the impact of their 2017 World Championships in Düsseldorf. ITTF were also the best performing Summer Olympic International Federation by Engagement Rate on Facebook and Instagram.” The ITTF Facebook page was ranked fourth in engagement rate after International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation International Luge Federation and World Curling Federation who competed at the Winter Olympic Games in Pyongchang. Chartres ASTT and GIRBAU-VIC TT in ultimate stage of the ETTU Cup
In the final of the Men’s ETTU Cup Chartres ASTT will play against K.S. Dekorglass Dzialdowo whilst in Women’s ETTU Cup GIRBAU-VIC TT will meet Metz TT. In all-French clash Chartres ASTT beat Istres Tennis de Table in five matches. They secured the victory much harder than in opening leg since three weeks ago Chartes succeeded in three matches. Konstantinos PAPAGEORGIO beat Par GERELL in the opening match and Paul GAUZY succeeded against Robert GARDOS. However Alexandre ROBINOT and Romain LORENTZ showed good performance the secure the victory. At home soil ETIVAL CLAIREFONTAINE ASRTT failed to halt the progress of GIRBAU-VIC TT to the final of the Women’s ETTU Cup. In both legs Spanish club won; in opening leg it was 3:1 today 3:2.
