SVS STROCK is the new champion of the ETTU Cup. In the second leg they lost against Club Pongiste Lyssois Lille Metropole after five close games but they managed to reach the overall victory. Club Pongiste Lyssois Lille Metropole lost their first encounter at home soil by same margin 2:3. The both teams scored 17 games each so at the end points difference counts. It was 319: 298 for Austrian team.
LI Fen European singles champion crowned in Austria last year shined once again in Schwechat. At the beginning of the duel Swede beat young rising star always dangerous Romania’s Bernadette SZOCS. SZOCS managed to took one game by narrow margin from experienced adversary but in the last set LI showed no mercy.
YANG Xiao Xin brought back suspense in the game. She overcame Tatyana BILENKO after losing first game. In the duel between Petra LOVAS and Agnes Le LANNIC experience prevailed. Agnes failed to settle into the game before Hungarian player sealed the match. Like two weeks before the duel between same adversaries concluded in three games.
In first leg LI Fen beat YANG Xiao Xin in straight games to give her team good start and this time YANG had her revenge. She beat LI in four games. LI recovered after 0:2 won third set 11:0 before in close game YANG concluded the match in her favor.
Once again Bernadette SZOCS was in charge to close the match. She did it in great style. SZOCS beat Tatyana BILENKO in straight games to give her team victory in second leg.
