The first European Veterans Team Championships in Almeira concluded today after a week of great matches. The names of the new six champions entered the history book after the premiere in Spain.

In the Women 40 – 59 Category Russia’s Spartak Moscow with Marina VASILYEVA Larisa LAVRUKHINA and Elena CHUNIKHINA clinched the gold. They preserved the unbeaten status after the final duel against Bulgaria’s Svilhosa with Svetlana KIRYAKOVA Mariela FILIPOVA FLOROVA and Marieta GEORGIEVA.

In Men’s 40-49 Russia 1 with Sergei SAVELEV Aleksandr SAVELEV and Georgii RUBINSHTEIN beat Stockholm S-Blommor from Sweden with Lars MATTISON Vahdin OKIC and Per MATTISON. Another gold to Russia’s account went after ultimate duel in Men’s 50-59. Russia 50-59 with Igor MIGALOV Igor ROLDUGIN and Sergei MANTUROV overcame Russia’s Rodina with with Aleksandr ELINSON Aleksei Rodin and Vladimir TUDVASEV.

For a short Russia’s dominance was interrupted by host nation. In men 60-64 Karpaty of Ukraine with Grygory POTOPLYAK Anatoli KOSTENKO and Zinovjy DEMKO beat Spanish Sanse Coruna with Francisco Jose GONZALEZ Luis GARCIA and Migue MALDONADO.

In Men 65-69 Russia again returned to the highest step at the medal rostrum. Gmyra GENNADY Felix KAPLAN Vladimir STOLNIKOV beat Spanish Assoc. VET. BCN with Juan REDON Ricard PALAU and Jaume PUIG.

In men 70-79 Nikolay BOLSHOV Dmitry DAVYDENKO and Anatoliy ZUBRIN in team of Russia beat compatriots Evgeny TATAMIKOV Victor VIRYASOV and Oleg SILITSKIY.
