RASSENFOSSE and MARCHETTI confirm status at Belgian Championships

Adrien RASSENFOSSE and Nathalie MARCHETTI claimed the singles titles at the Belgian A Championships.

The 2026 edition, held on 21–22 March, saw the favourites live up to expectations in the main events, while the battles for the remaining podium places remained highly competitive.

In the men’s singles, RASSENFOSSE secured his second national title, confirming his position as Belgium’s top-ranked player. He produced a consistent run throughout the tournament, defeating Thibaut DARCIS, Laurens DEVOS and Olav KOSOLOSKY, before overcoming KOSOLOSKY in the final (4-1). DEVOS and Tom CLOSSET completed the podium.

In the women’s singles, MARCHETTI once again demonstrated her dominance, claiming her seventh national title with a convincing 4-0 victory over Nataliya SMIRNOVA in the final. She had earlier been tested in the knockout rounds by Margo DEGRAEF and Eloïse DUVIVIER. DEGRAEF and Julie VAN HAUWAERT secured bronze medals.

The Massart siblings were among the standout performers of the championships. Alessi MASSART and Lilou MASSART successfully defended their mixed doubles title and also claimed gold in men’s and women’s doubles respectively, partnering Tom CLOSSET and Julie VAN HAUWAERT. The mixed doubles final saw them overcome another sibling duo, Louis and Lilly LAFFINEUR.
