National Championships: third Hungarian title for POTA and FAZEKAS

04/03/2012 – Women’s Singles Events finished victoriously for top seeded player at the 95th Hungarian National Championships. Georgina POTA won third Women’s Singles title after 2006 2008 Player of Berlin Eastside showed fine form she did not lose the set in the semi final and final Stage. POTA overcame Szandra PERGEL in semi final 4:0 and beat title holder Petra LOVAS in the final 4:0. Three times champion LOVAS overcame young talented Dora MADARASZ in close match (4:3) in the semi final.

“I was more confident on this weekend then in the last months for example on the World Tour Events. I started the year very well I’m trusting in good continuation ” said the women’s singles champion after the final match.
Peter FAZEKAS also won his third title in the Men’s Singles category after 2004 and 2005. He succeeded in five games (4:1) against Daniel KOSIBA who was the runner up in 2011 too.

Peter FAZEKAS beat Zoltan VARGA (4:1) in the semi final whilst Daniel KOSIBA overcame Adam LINDNER in seven games (4:3) “I played in perfect form during the weekend. I am very happy to win the third singles titles in my career. The final is always the most difficult match but the Round of 32 was very hard for me I had to play seven games against talented young player SZUDI” said FAZEKAS.

Adam LINDNER and Marton MARSI are the new Men’s Doubles champions. They beat Janos NEMETH and Daniel SCHAFFER for the gold medal 3:0 In the Semi Final LINDNER and MARSI defeated Adam PATTANTYUS and Mate MORICZ 3:0 the finalist doubles Janos NEMETH Daniel SCHAFFER overcame Gabor BOHACS Daniel Gabor KISS 3:1 In Women’s Doubles Event POTA and LOVAS clinched the title.. They won against MADARASZ and Szandra PERGEL in the final hurdle 3:2. In the semi final the winners beat Eva BRAUN Rita KERTAI 3:1 whilst silver medalist double overcame Timea VARGA Mercedesz NAGYVARADI.3:0
