DIEZ and CAYMEL crowned champions in Granada

Spanish National Championships

 

Endika DIEZ and Claudia CAYMEL won singles titles at the 2020 Spanish Championships held in Granada. In Men’s Singles DIEZ clinched the title after victory over the 11-time champion Carlos MACHADO 4-3 (11-6 11-8 14-12 7-11 4-11 4-11 13-11). Moises ÁLVAREZ and Carlos CABALLERO won the bronze medal.

 

In the Women’s Singles final Claudia CAYMEL secured the trophy for the first time. She overcame Ana GARCÍA (11-6 11-7 12-10 12-10) to take the crown. Angela RODRÍGUEZ and Alba FERNÁNDEZ won the bronze medal.

 

In the Men’s Doubles tournament Carlos FRANCO and Miguel Ángel VILCHEZ defeated Burgos’s pair AUSIN-CABALLERO in the final by 12-10 12-10 and 12-10. In Women´s Doubles Marina ÑIGUEZ y Alba FERNÁNDEZ won the title after defeated BARBA-CAYMEL in the final.

 

In Men´s Teams Real Cajasur Priego TM has won seven titles in the history of Kings Cup after their winning against CERL Escala 3-0 in Granada. It is their winning as ‘Real’ naming that few teams have after many years in high level competition.

 

Carlos MACHADO won the first point against Asian player CHIH-Wei Yeh (3-2). Diogo CARVALHO brings victory to his team winning Iker GONZÁLEZ (3-0). Finally Daniel KOSIBA gave the title to Real Cajasur Priego TM after his victory against Norbert TAULER. CERL Escala was finalist of this edition a very impressive result because his team has two young national players (GONZÁLEZ and TAULER).

 

In Women’s Teams UCAM Cartagena TM returned to the top of Queens Cup Iberdrola winning their sixteenth against ASSSA Alicante TM in the final. Local player Ana GARCÍA won the decisive point of final against Kim VERMAAS (11-6 12-10 11-4). LI Fen got first point against LI Jiao (3-2). And LIU Xin beat Marina ÑIGUEZ 3-2.
