QIAN upset her compatriot no.2 seed LIU Shiwen in the opening round. Germany’s HAN Ying was beaten by GU Yuting in straight games.

 

Germany‘s Timo BOLL and Patrick FRANZISKA reached Men‘s Doubles semi-finals as the only European pair. They overcame Jakub DYJAS (Poland) and Cedric NUYTINCK (Belgium) in four games but have beaten in the semis by no.1 seed JEOUNG Youngsik and LEE Sangsu of Korea.

 

Mixed Doubles event saw fantastic clash between France‘s Emmanuel LEBESSON / YUAN Jia Nan and Japan‘s Tomokazu HARIMOTO / Hina HAYATA. Asian pair won 3:2 (8:11 11:7 7:11 11:7 11:8).
