ASSSA Alicante TDM showed no mercy

Round of 16 Europe Cup Leg 1

 

Hosts had mixed fortune today in the opening leg of the Round of 16 Men’s and Women’s Europe Cup. ASSSA Alicante TDM TTC Kazan and Novi Sad in Women’s and in men’s SF SKK El Nino Praha and Benelux Group Taverzo recorded home wins whilst SK Vydrany suffered at home soil.

 

Spanish ASSSA Alicante TDM led by LI Jiao prevailed against Luxembourg’s DT Nidderkäerjeng. Li beat Egle TAMASAUSKAITE in straight games and Kim VERMAAS and Marina NIGUEZ went same path against Anelia LUPULESKU and Lena GREIN.

 

TTC Kazan went full distance against TMK-TAGMET Taganrog in all-Russia’s duel. Chen SUN won both matches against Margarita FETUKHINA and Yulia PROKHOROVA whilst Daria SHADRINA added third point in the match against FETUKHINA

 

 Dutch Benelux Group Taverzo succeeded in the opening leg of the Round of 16 Men’s Europe Cup. At home soil they overcame Swiss TTC Neuhausen. In Czech Republic SF SKK El Nino Praha overcame Belgium’s TT Vedrinamur in straight matches. The real drama was in duel between SK Vydrany vs. Fortune Kyiv which eventually went to Ukraine’s account. In Slovakia hosts managed to recover from two null in reverse; Samuel NOVOTA changed the course of the match and Peter SEREDA beat Viktor YEFIMOV to level at 2:2. After five games in decisive match Zoltan LELKES failed to halt Dmytro PYSAR so guests went home with important win before return leg on Friday.
