BOLL on route to level one more table tennis record

CCB Europe Top 16 Cup in Montreux

 

Timo BOLL is on route to reach one more table tennis record. German star booked the place in the semi final of the CCB Europe Top 16 Cup in Montreux by beating Kristian KARLSSON in superb style (11:3 12:10 11:6 6:11 11:1).

“It is always hard to play against teammate but good start gave some advantage. He managed to return into the match in the third game but at that point is was too late ” said Timo BOLL.

About the possibility to play against GROTH or OVTCHAROV BOLL shortly replied: “I am ready whoever won.”

His compatriot Patrissa SOLJA joined him few minutes later after the victory against Romania’s Elizabeta SAMARA (11:7 11:9 9:11 11:8 11:6).

 

“We played against each other long time ago. Today I felt confident with my service and receive game. Especially with receive. I did not make many mistakes. Usually SAMARA has very dangerous service and I gave my best to avoid any easy points on her service ” said SOLJA.”Against POLCANOVA in semis the chances are 50/50. Tomorrow is a new day.”
