Timo BOLL: One step on the time

LIEBHERR 2018 ITTF European Championships

 

First time since June Timo BOLL of Germany played at the tournament and his first appearance was successful. In the Round of 64 at the Men’s Singles event at he LIEBHERR 2018 ITTF European Championships Timo overcame Lionel WEBER of Switzerland (7 -6 11 1 6).

 

“I was not expecting a lot from myself. For a first time I played against WEBER so it was difficult for me. I struggled with my return game at the beginning and I was not very happy with my movements but I hope it will improve as the Championships progresses one step at the time” said BOLL.

 

Liam PITCHFORD of England overcame Nandor ECSEKI of Hungary (5 7 6 -5 -8 6).

 

“I controled the game from the beginning and it gave me confidence. I was good with the receive which gave good advantage. Nandor had to change the service; I did not respond well on his changing the rhythm at first. In sixth game I improved my service to regain the control ” explained PITCHFORD.
