Tarnobrzeg wins thriller in Zagreb

Seamaster ECLW semi-final (first leg): Dr. Casl – KTS Enea Siarka Tarnobrzeg 2:3 (11:10)

 

Polish champion Seamester ECLW top seed secured small advantage in the first semi-final game held in the Croatian city of Zagreb: Dr. Cal – KTS Enea Siarka Tarnobrzeg 2:3 (11:10 in sets). Host side suffered its first defeat after 77 consecutive wins in four different competitions.

 

ZHOU Xintong provided two points for Dr. Casl against Li Qian and Elizabeta SAMARA but Tarnobrzeg showed good team work with HAN Ying as no. 3 in the line-up.

 

After 1:0 lead for the host side SAMARA beat LI Jie to tie the score. They met in the recent semi-final of China Construction Bank 2018 ITTF Europe Top 16 Cup and LI won 4:1.

 

HAN Ying prevailed against FU Yu in the third encounter inspite of being two sets down. ZHOU overcame SAMARA in four games to set super exciting clash between LI Jie and LI Qian. Ultimate chapter was extended to full distance and last two sets have been decided by a narrow margin.
