2018 World Junior Championships in Bendigo

Japan and China justified their positions to book their places in the finals of the Junior Boys and Girls Teams Event at the 2018 World Junior Championships in Bendigo Australia.

In Junior Girls Event Japan the top seeds recorded a three-nil win in opposition to Russia the no.5 seeds. The player who gave her adversary a hardest time was Russia’s Mariia TAILAKOVA. In the opening match of the contest against Russia she extended Miyu NAGASAKI the full five games distance only experiencing defeat by the minimal two point margin in the decider (11-6 2-11 11-9 12-14 14-12). Yumeno SOMA beat Anastasia KOLISH (13-11 11-3 11-5) before Satsuki ODO concluded matters by defeating Kristina KAZANTSEVA (11-5 11-3 9-11 11-2).

China beat Korean Republic Chinese Taipei the no.2 seeds finished in fifth place ahead of Romania Hong Kong and the United States; Romania commenced play as the no.7 seeds Hong Kong the no.3 seeds and the United States in the position where they started the no.8 seeds. India finished in ninth place followed by Serbia France Brazil Belarus New Zealand Canada and Australia.

In Junior Boys Teams Event China the top seeds halted the progress of France the no.4 seeds a three-nil success being the victory margin. France proved more than worthy opponents; XU Yingbin beat Leo de NODREST (13-11 11-8 11-6) to give the top seeds the ideal start. YU Heyi followed suit by overcoming Irvin BERTRAND (16-14 7-11 11-4 11-9) before XIANG Peng accounted for a determined Bastien REMBERT in five games (11-9 11-13 9-11 11-3 11-7) to seal the win.

Meanwhile with honor at stake Romania secured fifth place followed by the United States Iran and India. Selecting Cristian PLETEA Rares SIPOS and Cristian CHIRITA throughout Romania the no.6 seeds recorded a three-nil win in opposition to the no.5 seeds the Indian combination of Manush Utpalbhai SHAH Manav Vikash THAKKAR and Snehit SURAVAJJU before overcoming the no.8 seeds the United States outfit comprising Sharon ALGUETTI Kanak JHA and Nicholas TIO.
