The battle heating up in La Roche sur Yon
2015 World Junior Championships Top four seeds in the Boys’ Team Event at the 2015 World Junior Championships in La Roche sur Yon secured leading positions in their respective groups. China Korea Republic Hong Kong and France all recorded two victories in the second stage and progressed to the quarterfinal of the event. Top two seeds in Girls Team Event China and Korea Republic progressed to the quarters unbeaten. China beat Romania and Poland. They lost only one point. Romania’s Rares SIPOS beat XUE Fei but it did not stop top seeds. Korea beat Czech Republic and Germany and like China they also lost only one match in the process. Tomas POLANSKI was the player who caused the damage in the opening match against AN Jaehyun but Korea soon recovered to win the match. At the end of the day Germany beat Czech Republic to secure the place in the quarters from the position no. two. For Hong Kong it was much harder journey. They were stretched to full distance in both matches. Russia’s Nikita YARUSHIN and Konstantin CHERNOV showed good performance but NG Pak Nam was at the top of his game in the decisive match. Sweden’s Anton KALLBERG beat NG Pak Nam in the opening contest whilst Malte MOREGARD overcame KWAN Man Ho but once again in the fifth match NG proved too strong for Oscar PERMAN. Host nation will watch France in the quarters. Alexandre CASSIN Can AKKUZU and Irvin BERTRAND beat Slovenia and Hungary in both occasion they recorded 3:1 win. By narow margin Slovenia overcame Hungary and joined France. In Girls Team Event China overcame Korea DPR and Hong Kong whilst Korea Republic succeeded against Brazil and Germany. Germany’s WAN Yuan was the only player to score against Korea. She beat AN Yeongeun. In the final match in the Group Germany overcame Brazil to win the second place. France beat Sweden in the opening contest of the second Round in straight matches but lost against Romania in the full distance duel. Adina DIACONU was the instrumental of Romania’s success. She beat Marie MIGOT and Audrey ZARIF to inflict the pain in host nation supporters. Next in line to suffer was Sweden. Romania succeeded in straight matches to win the leading position in the Group. France finished second. In Group four Russia suffered by the hands of USA but beat Belarus and thanks to that win progressed to the next stage. USA concluded the second round at the position no. one after victory over Belarus.
TTCLM: Chartres flies into 2016
The 2013 TTCLM runner-up secured its place in the 2015/16 quarter-final having all four wins so far in the group stage. World’s Best Junior Players Battle for Junior World Champion titles in France
Wang Manyu looks to defending her Junior World Champion title in France The world’s best junior table tennis players have gathered in the French city of Vendée for the ITTF 2015 World Junior Table Tennis Championships that will be held from 29 November to 6 December 2015 at the Vendéspace. The 2015 World Junior Table Tennis Championships which is the most premier event for under-18 players will see 183 athletes from 40 countries battling to be crowned Junior World Champions in 7 categories: Boys’ Team Girls’ Team Boys’ Singles Girls’ Singles Boys’ Doubles Girls’ Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Top seeded WANG Manyu (CHN) will be hoping to defend her Girls’ Singles crown that she won in Shanghai last year to match the record set by ZHU Yuling who now stands at number 2 in the world. The 16-year-old will have to fend off not only competition from her compatriots CHEN Xingtong CHEN Ke and WANG Yidi but also from top players from the rest of the world all eyeing to break China’s winning streak since the inauguration of the event in 2003. Brazil’s Bruna TAKAHASHI who made history to win 2 golds for Latin America at the 2015 World Cadet Challenge last month will look to continue her top form here in Vendée to create more surprises ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in her home country. Hong Kong’s HO Kwan Kit who has enjoyed much success on the ITTF World Tour series leads the seedings in the boys’ singles. He will face tough challenges from Sweden’s Anton KALLBERG who was awarded the wild card to the recently concluded Liebherr 2015 ITTF Men’s World Cup to fight with the world’s top players. The crowd will be cheering for local talents headed by Alexandre CASSIN and 2014 Youth Olympian Audrey ZARIF in the Boys’ and Girls’ Singles respectively in their fight for the prestigious titles. The 2015 World Junior Championships will kick off with the teams’ events on 29 November and the team titles determined on 2 December while the Singles and Doubles matches will commence from 3 December.

Fakel Gazproma Orenburg beat away Walter Wels 3:0 in the Round 4 of Group A Defending TTCLM champion Fakel Gazproma Orenburg took revenge over Walter Wels after showing its super class in Austria to win 3:0. Champions beaten 3:1 at home three months ago now had much easier job because Yuya OSHIMA was absent. When these two clubs met in Orenburg Japanese defeated both European stars Dimitrij OVTCHAROV and Vladimir SAMSONOV. Tonight clash started by Vladimir SAMSONOV victory against Mihai BOBOCICA. Italian played decent in all five sets but in the latest one Byelorussian relied on his experience to secure Orenburg`s advantage. Actual individual European champion was super motivated against player who beat him in the Round 1 and result speaks for itself: Zolt PETE – Dimitrij OVTCHAROV 0:3 (3:11 7:11 5:11). Spanish club beat SVNO STROCK 3:1 in the latest Round 4 match UCAM Cartagena tops ECLW Group B after Round 4 as it beat at home the 2012 ECLW finalist SVNO STROCK 3:1. In the opening round Austrian side won 3:0 in Schwechat so it will be interesting to see how the things will unfold in the next two rounds. As in the previous round against Szekszard SHEN Yanfei contributed with two points. First she beat Matilda EKHOLM in five games while in the fourth encounter she prevailed against Tetyana BILENKO. Ukrainian player leveled the score after two matches as she overcame Maria XIAO. Third point for Cartagena got WANG Zhipei who was better than Croatian rising star Lea RAKOVAC. France topping the European list
2015 World Junior Championships in La Roche sur Yon The 2015 World Junior Championships which commences in La Roche sur Yon France tomorrow gathered 20 teams in Junior Boys and 19 in Junior Girls Team Events. Top seeded in both categories is China whilst France is the best seeded European team. In Boys category they are at the position no. four and in Girls category no. three. Boys from Sweden are just one place above; whilst in Girls category Romania follows hosts closely at position no. four. We can expect very close battle between the best European teams. In the final of the Boys’ Team event at the European Youth Championships the French trio formed by Alexandre CASSIN Can AKKUZU and Joe SEYFRIED recorded a three matches to one success in the final against the Swedish trio of Anton KÄLLBERG Malte MOREGARDH and Simon SODERLUND. Notably Alexandre CASSIN beat both Simon SODERLUND and Anton KÄLLBERG. All six players are on duty in La Roche sur Yon. Latter in Bratislava Anton KÄLLBERG clinched the title in singles. Further at the LIEBHERR Men’s World Cup in Halmstad he booked his place in the main draw whilst at the GAC Group 2015 ITTF World Tour Swedish Open in Stockholm he recorded a second round win over China’s YAN An before overcoming Russia’s Vasily LAKEEV. In Girls Category Audrey ZARIF of France and Adina DIACONU of Romania will lead the European challenge. The top seed is China’s WANG Manyu. Beaten at the semi-final stage by LIU Gaoyang in Rabat one year ago in Shanghai the winner Wang Manyu attempts to do what has never been done before; that is to retain the Junior Girls’ Singles title at a World Junior Championships. In fact it is a feat that has not been achieved in the counterpart Boys’ Singles event; if she can succeed in La Roche sur Yon when play in the eight day tournament concludes on Sunday 6th December she will have her own special place in the annals of sport. She will match ZHU Yuling as having won the Junior Girls’ Singles title on two occasions; ZHU Yuling appeared in three consecutive finals.
