TTC Berlin Eastside beat away Linz AG Froschberg 3:2 as SHAN Xiona won two matches  Defending ECLW champion TTC Berlin Eastside beat away Linz AG Froschberg 3:2 in the first semi-final leg hence the finalist will be decided in the returning clash in Germany. SHAN Xioana was decisive factor as she defeated both finalists of recent Austrian National Championships Sofia POLCANOVA and LIU Jia. Both teams were unbeaten until this meeting.  Current World No. 17 LIU jia beat Georgina POTA (World No. 31) in straight games of the opening match. Guest had just one short period in which she played better than her opponent leading 7:5 in the second set. But host responded by four consecutive points and won that set. The 2005 individual European champion fully deserved this victory.  World No. 12 SHAN Xiaona leveled the score against Sofia POLCANOVA (No. 49) in spite of losing the opening game. Recently crowned champion of Austria opened the encounter by her 6:1 and 7:3 lead but guest reversed the score to 8:7 in her favor. After all POLCANOVA saved two game balls and won first set. From that moment SHAN controlled the game creating 8-0 run in early second set. The winner has been decided after 11 points in a row of Berlin`s player (from 4:4 in the third set to 4:0 in the fourth one).  Actual World No. 74 ZHANG Mo provided new lead to the host side as she overcame Petrissa SOLJA (No. 13) after full five games. German player whose participation was in question due to injury had an advantage after three games. But Canadian player dominated in the next two sets as SOLJA`s did several backhand errors. In the openng leg of the semi final in Austria they overcame SPG Walter Wels.  Mihai BOBOCICA was the only player who scored for the hosts after full five games thriller against European champion Emmanuel LEBESSON. However Emmanuel LEBESSON showed no mercy on his second visit to the table and beat WANG Jianjun to secure the victory for the French team. Like Bursa BüyükÅŸehir Belediyespor day earlier another Turkish representative recorded the victory in the opening leg of the Women’s ETTU Cup semi final. Summer School in China Table Tennis College  Every year China Table Tennis College enroll 20 members(age mainly needs to over 16 and below 20). Training fee is for free and member just need to pay their arrival and flight cost. This year’s Summer School begins from 5th July to 1st August in Shanghai.  “We would like to give this chance to the European branch of CTTC. Later we will select members if they are lucky to be our members. Every year it is a hot program in summer. Members will learn Chinese play table tennis and have other cultural activity. Everyone get a lot during the 4 weeks “ said Wenting Xu person in charge of the 2017 summer camp.  China Table Tennis College is the first professional institution of table tennis in the world which jointly established by Shanghai Municipal Government and Chinese Table Tennis Association and is located in Shanghai with teaching training scientific research and foreign exchange. It also has degree education of undergraduate master Ph.D. as well as the mission of cultivating outstanding youths. We hold the Summer School every year in order to further promote the development of world table tennis and improve the technical level of the youths from various countries.  The College will provide participants living accommodations meals related learning materials as well as domestic travel costs for free. International travel costs of participants should be paid by themselves.  This Summer School begins from 5th July to 1st August in Shanghai China. TTCLM Top seed Fakel Gazprom Orenburg beat away German side 3:1 in the first semi-final game  TTCLM Top seed and triple champion Fakel Gazprom Orenburg beat 2012 semi-finalist FC Saarbrucken 3:1 in the first semi-final leg of 2016/17 TTCLM. Japanese Jun MIZUTANI World No. 6 got two points as he beat both Bojan TOKIC and Tiago APOLONIA. Returning match is scheduled for April 6th in the Russian city of Orenburg.  Tiago APOLONIA showed his best play so far in this season defeating World No. 5 Dimitrij OVTCHAROV in straight games. Portuguese controlled the game with better outcomes in long distance exchange but also his serve was impressive in several important moments. Host won one of most decisive rallies in late second set (10:9).  APOLONIA didn’t give OVTCHAROV any chance to play his game. When German finally found his rhythm leading 8:5 in the third set host changed his tactics and attacked sharply on OVTCHAROV`s serve. That kind of play pushed him to the winning direction as he took last six points in a row (5:8 11:8).  Bojan TOKIC and Jun MIZUTANI played a little bit strange clash. ECLW semis: Tarnobrzeg wins in Hungary
First semi-final match: Szekszard AC – KTS Siarka ZOT Tarnobrzeg 1:3  Polish champion KTS Siarka ZOT Tarnobrzeg actual runner-up of ECLW beat away Hungarian Szekszard AC 3:1 in the first semi-final leg. Returning game will be held on April 7th in the city of Tarnobrzeg.  It was a good team work of Polish super-defensive team as each their player took one point. World No. 6 HAN Ying defeated the best host player Polina MIKHAILOVA in four games of the opener. HAN ended second set with three consecutive points (8:6 11:6) and added three more in a row at the beginning of the third game (3:0). These six points in total brought her a lot of confidence and she easily won third and fourth set.  Dora MADARAS prevailed against Viktoria PAVLOVICH after full five games. Host reversed the score in the opener from 6:8 to 11:8 but double European champion PAVLOVICH responded by five points in a row in the second game (3:7 8:7) after several wonderful long points. The score was leveled after four sets but MADARASZ controlled decisive period since very first moment.  Recently crowned champion of Poland LI Qian (last weekend took her fifth title in that country) overcame LIN Ye in five games in spite of facing 0-2 deficit. Guest did a winning run in late fifth set when she took four consecutive points after 2:2 (7:7).  One more clash was extended to full distance as Viktoria PAVLOVICH beat Polina MIKHAILOVA. Bursa Büyükşehir Belediyespor leaves France with win
ETTU Cup French representatives had mixed fortune tonight. Stella Sport La Romagne in front of 500 spectators beat Russia’s UMMC in impressive style in Men’s ETTU Cup semis. Bursa BüyükÅŸehir Belediyespor made their life easier with away win over French CP Lyssois Lille Metropole in the first match of the Women’s ETTU Cup semi final.  It was not a dream start for the the team for Turkey at all. WU Yue gave 3:0 lead to the host team after victory over Aleksandra PRIVALOVA. However it did not affect European champion’s game. HU Melek leveled the match in her first enter to playing arena. Agnès LE LANNIC and latter WU Yue could not stop her. In the decisive game PRIVALOVA overcame her starting defeit and beat LE LANNIC.  CHEN Tianyuan and WEI Shiaho gave Stella Sport La Romagne dream start with two straight games victories over Andrej GACINA and Alexander SHIBAEV. German side beat away reigning champion Pontoise 3:0 in the first semi-final leg  Reigning TTCLM champion AS Pontoise Cergy suffered hard loss from TTCLM record holder ten times winner Borussia Dusselrorf playing first semi-final game at home – 0:3 (5:9). Returning leg will be held on April 7th at Dusseldorf`s ARAG CenterCourt.  It was a really impressive team work of German side but Stefan FEGERL (World No. 21) deserves to be emphasized as a man of the match bearing in mind that he paved the way for his team as he defeated the best host player Marcos FREITAS (World No. 14) in the opener. Full hall enjoyed in the fight between two strong attackers. Each set was very tense and full of wonderful exchanges but after all guest won in five games.  Recently crowned champion of Austria managed to reverse the score in the third set from 0:6 to 7:6 concluding the set with three points in a row. Portuguese leveled the score thanks to fantastic rally in the late fourth set (10:8).
