Lithuanian National Championships  Three days of Lithuanian National Championships held in Lithuania capital Vilnius brought a lot of surprises.  The winner of the Lithuanian National Table Tennis Championships for the first time became Medardas STANKEVICIUS (coachV. STANKEVICIUS) and Ingrida PRIEDZIUTE (coach VELICKA).   PREIDZIUTE secured place in finals when winning against BASKUTYTÄ– in the semi-finals. In finals she met with fifteen years old RILISKYTE (coach. PRUSIENE) who after the persistent battle with the result 4:3 (11: 9 12:10 5:11 8:11 11:13 11: 6 11: 9) had to recognize the advantage of the PREIDZIUTE.  In the quarterfinals STUCKYTE who was the favorite in women’s competitions suffered an injury in the third set and could not continue competitions in this way sending BASKUTYTE to the semifinals.  Four times national champion Udra did not reach finals too. In the quarterfinals after a very tense battle with the result 3: 4 (11: 5 4:11 11: 6 11: 7 7:11 9:11 9:11) he lost for Vilkas who met in the semifinals with Stankevicius.  In the second half of semifinals the audience was surprised by the player LESIV who with result 4: 2 (11: 7 6:11 11: 6 8:11 11: 8 11: 8) beat one of the favorites Mikutis.  In the final duel STANKEVICIUS beat LESIV with a score of 4:1 (11: 5 11: 6 11: 8 10:12 11: 7).  VENCKUTE with BASKUTYTE in the final with result of 3:1 defeated RASIMAVICIENE with PREIDZIUTE and became the winners of the women’s doubles. The winners of the man doubles were brothers Arnoldas and Tonetas DOMEIKA who defeated brothers Alfredas and Manfredas UDRA with the result 3:2. DOVAL and LINDHOLM crowned Norwegian champions
National Championships Ilka DOVAL and Eskil LINDHOLM are crowned Norwegian champions. After two days of fierce battles they clinched their gold medals at National Championships.  In the women’s final Ilka DOVAL beat Maja HAUGEN GJELLE 4-3 and Eskil LINDHOLM beat Borgar HAUG 4-3 in men`s final. Sabina MUSAEVA aged 14 crowned champion of Latvia

CARVALHO and CHRAMKO are the champions
Portuguese National Championships  Olga CHRAMKO and Diogo CARVALHO are the new Portuguese national champions for this season. Diogo CARVALHO won the second national title in a row and third overall. For the 41-year-old Olga CHRMAKO is the second title.  CARVALHO won the final against the surprise player Nuno GONZAGA by 4-1 after beating in the semi-final Diogo CHEN. Luxembourg`s National Championships  In Luxembourg national championships have been organized earlier than in other European countries (four weeks ago) in the “Coque” Luxembourg-Kirchberg.  Eric GLOD has won for the first time the national title in the Men’s Singles event. He beat in the final Luka MLADENOVIC the champion of the last year 4-0 (7 6 6 7)  Once again a victory for Eric GLOD for the third time in row in the Men`s Doubles event. He has won the final with Carlo FELTES what they did also in 2016. Last year Eric GLOD was doubles winner with Christian KILL. This time GLOD/FELTES DEFEATED in the final MLADENOVIC/THILLEN 3-2 (8 5 -8 -8 5).  For the 6th time Sarah DE NUTTE is Women’s Singles champion in Luxembourg. Danish National Championships  The 19- year-old Anders LIND (club Brønshøj) and 24 year-old Stefanie H. CHRISTENSEN (Hillerød) are the newly crowned Danish champions in singles. They won one more gold LIND in Mixed Doubles and CHRISTENSEN in Women`s Doubles.  LIND beat former European Team champion 49-year-old Allan BENTSEN in straight games of the final whilst Stefanie H CHRISTENSEN has defended her 2017 title in six sets against Sophie WALLØE in the women`s final. PITCHFORD and HO improve their records in England
English National Championships  Liam PITCHFORD won his fourth career men’s singles crown and Tin-Tin HO completed a hat-trick of women’s singles titles on the final day of the PG Mutual National Championships.  PITCHFORD England’s star performer at the Team World Cup in London last week defeated England colleague Sam WALKER in the final 4-1 (8-11 11-4 11-4 11-9 11-6).  HO beat Kelly SIBLEY 4-1 (6-11 11-8 12-10 11-8 11-8) to ensure the same outcome in the women’s singles final for the third year in a row.  The two winners had earlier combined to take the Mixed Doubles – PITCHFORD’s first ever success in that event – at the Copper Box Arena. They saved four match points on the way to defeating David McBEATH & SIBLEY 3-2 (11-9 6-11 8-11 14-12 12-10).  The Men’s Doubles saw Paul DRINKHALL & McBEATH beat PITCHFORD & WALKER 3-1 (11-8 11-6 6-11 11-1) while SIBLEY teamed up with Maria TSAPTSINOS to defeat HO & Denise PAYET 3-0 (11-4 11-6 11-7) in the Women’s Doubles.  Every member of England’s squad for the forthcoming Commonwealth Games appeared in at least one final.
