France won gold in the Under 15 Boy’s Teams Event at the 2022 Dunav Osiguranje European Youth Championships in Belgrade. In the final they overcame Sweden. Day earlier Sweden beat Ukraine and France beat Hungary. At the ultimate stage French team dominate and Flavien COTON overcame Noa DAHLSTROM Nathan LAM beat William BERGENBLOCK. In Doubles Coach Alice JONEAU put Antoine Jean Christian NOIRAULT and Flavio MOURIER in fire. “We proved how string we are as a team with this straight matches win. Our singles went also in straight three games so it speaks about our strength ” said Flavien COTON. Speaking about the greatest challenge at the tournament COTON pointed at the match against Bulgaria. “In the quarterfinal we were 2 to 1 matches in reverse before we recovered to win 3:2. That was remarkable ” explained COTON who hopes for more gold medals in individual part of the Championships. Romania is crowned champions in Under 19 Boy’s Teams Event at the 2022 Dunav Osiguranje European Youth Championships in Belgrade. Poland could not defend their title from Varazdin last year. They lost in dramatic final after five matches and thrilling duels. On their way to the final Romania beat Belgium in semis whilst Poland halted France. Iulian CHIRITA emerged as the hero of the day with two wins over Maciej KUBIK and Milosz REDZIMSKI. Eduard IONESCU overcame Mateusz ZALEWSKI. “Poland has strong players on each of three positions. They are very good team. It was very close. I started good but Darius was a little bit unlucky in second match. He managed to recover after being down 0:2 but in the decisive game REDZIMSKI won. Also Maciej KUBIK outplayed Darius in one of the hardest matches at the tournament that also went full distance. However it did not kill my self-confidence. I won the last match ” said CHIRITA. Darius praised CHIRITA’s performance as well as IONESCU’s win at the edge of the knife. “It was so close in each match ” pointed Darious. Romania at the top of the Europe in the Under 15 Girls Teams Event
Just after Romania’s Under 19 team lost their title Romania’s Under 15 Girls team clinched gold by beating Poland in the final of the 2022 Dunav Osiguranje European Youth Championships. In the semi final Romania beat Germany whilst Poland prevailed against Portugal. The ultimate stage match commenced in favor of Poland. Natalia BOGDANOWICZ beat Alesia Sofia SFERLEA but Bianca MEI ROSU nullified the Poland’s lead by beating Zofia SLIWKA. After the doubles Poland was once again in the lead but next two singles went on Romania’s account. “I think SFERLEA played for a first time against BOGDANOWICZ but I know her very well. We will play in the doubles here together and I hope for a medal with her ” said MEI ROSU. In doubles Romania had a good chance also. “We recovered from 0:2 in reverse but we lost in decisive game 9:11 ” added Bianca. In Under 19 Girl’s Teams Event Poland took the crown from Romania
Title-holders Romania had to pass the crown to Poland after thrilling five matches duel in the final of the Under 19 Girl’s Teams Event at the Dunav Osiguranje European Youth Championships in Belgrade. Germany and Sweden clinched bronze. Poland managed to recover after being two to null in reverse tonight against Romania. Wiktoria WROBEL took the opening game by the storm but failed to stay at the same path in the proceedings. Ioana SINGEORZAN took over the control and won the match in four games. Romania’s no. one Elena ZAHARIA justified her status and overcame Zuzanna WIELGOS in straight games. Then Anna BRZYSKA changed the course of the match. She overcame Luciana MITROFAN and in the next duel WROBEL beat ZAHARIA before WIELGOS overcame SINGEORZAN to seal the duel. “Wiktoria WROBEL was not on her top level in the match against Ioana SINGEORZAN. I am also unhappy with my performance against ZAHARIA ” explained WIELGOS. The pressure was on BRZYSKA to try to keep Poland in the game. “I felt little bit nervous and under stress. I am happy that I managed to win” admitted Anna. Elena ZAHARIA did not stand the pressure. Wiktoria WROBEL beat he after Romania’s player had 1:0 lead. “She really played perfectly at that point. Romania and Poland in three finals in Belgrade tomorrow
Romania and Poland booked their places in the final of the Under 19 Boy’s Teams event at the 2022 Dunav Osiguranje European Youth Championships. In the penultimate stage Romania beat Belgium whilst overcame Poland succeeded against France. Beside Under 15 Boy’s Event all other three events will have the same protagonists. Darius MOVILEANU overcame Louis LAFFINEUR in the opening match before Adrien RASSENFOSSE leveled the score with the victory over Eduard IONESCU. Iulian CHIRITA went full five games against Tom CLOSSET but showed better nerves at the end of the match. On his second exit to the table Darius MOVILEANU overcame Adrien RASSENFOSSE to push Romania into the final. “We expected very hards match as it happened tonight. It is great releive that we won it. I am happy that I won both my encounters and I think that we were very good as a team. We fought hard and I expect the same tomorow ” said Darius. Maciej KUBIK secured good start for Poland after he beat Alexis KOURAICHI in the opening match. Milosz REDZIMSKI overcame Thibault PORET to push Poland one more step closer to the final. Hugo DESCHAMPS saved match ball again him and managed to beat Mateusz ZALEWSKI to push Poland into the fourth duel. KUBIK won the nail bitting duel against PORET to seal the final. Poland was the first team to book its place in the semi final in the quarters they overcame Turkiye in straight matches. Milosz REDZIMSKI Maciej KUBIK and Mateusz ZAELEWSKI beat Hakan ISIK Ugurcan DURSUN and Yigit SIMSEK. “After very difficult match against Czech Republic we played yesterday this was comparatively easier duel. Maciej KUBIK secured very important victory over DURSUN and that was the crucial moment ”said Mateusz ZAELEWSKI. Romania accounted for Slovakia in straight matches. Darius MOVILEANU Eduardo IONESCU and Iulian CHIRITA beat Adam KLAJBER Filip DELINCAK and Samuel PALUSEK. “We were under pressure because it as the match for the medal. However we stayed focused and determined. Darius and Eduard had much harder job than I did. After they secured 2:0 it was much easier for me ” said CHIRITA. Belgium’s Adrien RASENFOSSE Louis LAFFINEUR and Tom CLOSSET overcame Italy’s Tommaso GIOVANETTI Andrea PUPPO and Federico VALLINO in straight matches. “We saved some energy again with another 3:0 victory. We are going to need it because the next step will be much harder. I won my match against GIOVANETTI and that was very important because I did not play well at the beginning. Eventually I needed four games to secure 1:0 but after that LAFFINEUR and CLOSSET won in straight games ” explained Adrien. In thrilling five matches France overcame Croatia to book the last place among top four teams. Ivor BAN created very good opportunity for Croatia after beating Thibault PORET and Alexis KOURAICHI. Ban pushed to decisive match after Petek BORNA suffered in the opening match and Hugo DECHAMPS won at the position no. three. BORNA was close to create big upset but he lost fifth match in fifth game against KOURAICHI by narrowest margin (11:8 12:10 7:11 12:14 13:11). “I am so happy that I managed to win the last one. After I had a led 2:0 Borna recovered to level and the pressure was enormous. It was amazing match. I had to adjust my service and receive game. I made long service in backhand and short in forehand ”said KOURAICHI.
Romania and Poland in the Under 15 Girl’s Teams Event final
In the final of the Under 15 Girl’s Teams Event at the 2022 Dunav Osiguranje European Youth Championships Poland booked their place in the final. They will meet Romania in the match for gold tomorrow in Stark Arena in Belgrade. Poland overcame Portugal on their way to the ultimate stage. Mariana SANTA COMBA overcame Zofia SLIWKA to give Portugal good start but Natalia BOGDANOWICZ beat Julia LEAL in straight games to level the match. In the doubles Mariana SANTA COMBA and Julia LEAL lost to Zofia SLIWKA and Natalia BOGDANOWICZ. Mariana SANTA COMBA was on duty again in attempt to prolong the match to another duel. Natalia BOGDANOWICZ had different idea and after four games she sealed the match. “I think that we proved to have stronger team. The battle was fierce. Portugal is very strong adversary ” said BOGDANOWICZ. In the semi final Germany could not repeat the performance we saw at the same table from their compatriots Under 19 team but for Romania the outcome was the same – they reached the final. Alesia Sofia SFERLEA was forced to go full distance against Eireen KALAITZIDOU before she gave Romania the lead. Bianca MEI ROSU beat Josephina NEUMANN in less dramatic fashion. Romania had 2:0 lead after her straight games victory. In the doubles Lorena MORSCH joined NEUMANN whilst Romania had SFERLEA and MEI ROSU again near the table. They secure the win. “The match was much harder than the result predicts. We fought for each point and we did not want to give any chances to our adversaries ” said MEI ROSU. In the quarterfinal Romania’s Alesia SFERLEA Bianca MEI ROSU overcame Ukraine’s Olha PONKO and Daria KOVALOVA in straight matches. Poland overcame Turkiye in four. Zofia SLIWKA and Natalia BOGDANOWICH accounted for Busra DEMIR and Aybuke Banu SIMSEK. On their way to the medal rostrum Germany was stretched to full distance in the duel against Belgium. Eireen KALAITZIDOU won two games and doubles with Josephina NEUMANN. On the other side it was Lilou MASSARAT who scored for Belgium. The clash between Portugal and Hungary went full distance as well. Portugal was the team who secured place at the medal rostrum. “We were nerveus. I tried not to think about the medal I tried to be focused on my game ” said Mariana SANTA COMBA. Mariana overcame Sophie BARCSAI in four games in opening match but she needed full five to beat Kendra MOLNAR. Hungarian doubles Kendra MOLNAR and Nora POLONYI added one point to their scoreboard and Molnar also prevailed against Julia LEAL.

Anna BRZYSKA had four match balls in decisive game against Rebecca MUSKANTOR and she lost the match. Zuzanna WIELGOS overcame Leah TVEIT MUSKANTOR for 2:1 and WROBEL sealed the match with the victory over Rebecca MUSKANTOR. “It was amazing and close match. Wiktoria was the back-bone of our success. Her two wins were fantastic ” said Anna BRZYSKA. In the quarterfinal top seeds went through very hard challenge. Croatia forced Romania to go full distance and the decisive match also went full five games. Hana ARAPOVIC was the player who put favorites on severe test. Hana beat Ioana SINGEORZA in the opening duel and Elena ZAHARIA in fourth match. ZAHARIA overcame Bruna BOROVEC who also suffered by the hands of SINGEORZAN. At position no. 3 Luciana MITROFAN beat Zrinka REBIC. “It was very stressful match. Hana played amazing table tennis today. I can congratulate her on her performance but I am happy that we eventually win. At 2:2 Ioana played very good and she stood the pressure ” said ZAHARIA. Czech Republic lost to Germany in straight matches. Sophia KLEE beat Klara HRABICOVA Annett KAUFMANN accounted for Helena SOMMEROVA and Mia GRIESEL beat Anna KLEMPEREROVA. “We are very happy that at this late stage in quarterfinal we managed to win the match clearly – 3:0. We remained focused and calm. My opening match against their number one Klara HRABICOVA was very important. I beat her in straight games but all were very close. Annett and Mia played perfectly after and here we are with the medal ” said Sophia KLEE. Poland beat Ukraine and they needed four matches to progress to the semi final. However first and third match went full distance. “Everyone did a great job in our individual matches so now we are happy with the overall result. Matilda gave us good boost with the opening win. That is the outcome of the fantastic semi final battles fought this evening in Belgrade. In the fantastic thriller Romania booked their place in the ultimate stage by beating Germany. Three gold medals winner in Under 15 Events last year in Varazdin Annett KAUFMANN showed no mercy against Ioana SINGEORZAN and recorded quick straight games win to secure good start for Germany. Sophia KLEE could not stop Elena ZAHARIA. ZAHARIA leveled in superb style. Luciana MITROFAN expanded the gap after the victory over Naomi PRANJKOVIC before Annett and Elena fought hard against each other. Their duel met the expectations; it went full distance and in the fantastic finish KAUFMANN pushed Germany into the fifth match. Match between KLEE and SINGEORZAN went full distance and in the decisive game Romania’s player won 11:9. “I started a liitle bit slow but at the end everything came together. France and Sweden will play for gold in the Under 15 Boy’s Event
In the final of the Under 15 Boy’s Teams Event at the 2020 Dunav Osiguranje European Youth Championships France will meet Sweden tomorrow in the Belgrade STAK Arena. France prevailed 3:1 against Hungary in the penultimate stage. Balazs LEI commenced the match against Antoine Jean Christian NOIRAULT in superb style and gave Hungary the lead. Flavien COTON brought back France to the game with the win over Botond Zoltan VARGA. LEI and Adam CSER faced Flavio MOURIER and Antoine Jean Christian NOIRAULT in doubles and France took over the the lead. The duel between COTON and LEI ended in favor of French player. “Balasz was very dangerous for us and he proved it tonight. It was very good and difficult match and we all had to be at the top of the game. In my match against LEI I was 2:1 up and had 8:3 before he managed to level. I had to stay calm and to remain my focus ” said COTON. In other semi final Ukraine’s Leonid YAKYMCHUK performed maturely against Noa DAHLSTROM. Noa could not find the answer for Leonid’s defending style of play. However Mykhailo LOVHA failed to continue in the same pace and William BERGENBLOCK nullified Ukraine’s advantage.Doubles composed of Nazarii SOLODKYI and Leonid YAKYMCHUK forced Peter ALESTEDT and William BERGENBLOCK to go full distance before Sweden took the lead in the match. BERGENBLOCK maintained his patience to overcome the defensive skills of YAKYMCHUK and led Sweden to the final. “Win in doubles secured our victory that was the important game. YAKYMCHUK is very good player but on the other side I am very good with that kind of play. I have very strong forehand and seized my opportunities ” said William BERGENBLOCK. Bulgaria forced top seeds to go full distance in the quarterfinal. Flavien COTON won both his matches against Stefan DIMITROV and Yoan VELICHKOV but Yoan beat Anthoine NOIRAULT and Bulgaria’s doubles also prevailed. “We were favorites but Bulgaria played very well and they took a lead at 2:1. That is why my match against their number one VELICHKOV was very important. I won 3:0 but it was 14:12 11:4 16:14… very difficult one ” said COTON. Hungary beat Israel 3:0. Balasz LEI and Botond VARGA overcame Natanel ABRAMOV and Uri ALMOUR. “Every match was very important but after my win over Uri I was sure we are going to pass to the next round ” said VARGA. It was much faster duel than one that Sweden was forced to go through against Czech Republic. Noa DAHLSTROM overcame Jindrich MORAVEK at the beginning and Jan SKLADA at the end. William BERGENBLOCK overcame SKLADA but after defeat in the doubles he also lost to MORAVEK. “It was tough. We had to fight for each point and that was the key to success never to give up. The opening match was very important. When Noa won 3:2 it was crucial ” said BERGENBLOCK. Ukraine overcame Romania. Leonid YAKYMCHUK and Mikhailo LOVHA overcame Luca OPREA and Rares CUESDEAN in three games. “I am proud of my team and all what have we done at this tournament. The game here is at very high level. Also the support we have from each other makes us very strong ” said Leonid.

Romania was in the fast lane today in Stark Arena at the Dunav Osiguranje European Youth Championships and managed to reach the quarterfinal of the Under 19 Boy’s Teams Event after quick three matches against Hungary. They will meet Slovakia tomorrow; Turkiye will meet Poland France will play against Croatia and Belgium will face Italy. In Round of 16 Eduardo IONESCU Darius MOVILEANU and Iulian CHIRITA beat Hungary’s David SZANTOSI CHEN Yu Wei and Levente KREBS. “We were ready to play long match against Hungary because they have two very good players. The opening match between IONESCU and SZANTOSI was very important and the victory gave us the big push ” said Iulian CHIRITA. France beat England in another straight matches duel. Thibault PORET accounted for Felix THOMIS Alexis KOURAICHI continued in the same pace against Connor GREEN and Hugo DESCHAMPS sealed the match in the duel against Louis PRICE. “It was important for me to win the opening match to take away the pressure from the team. We expected this win but at this stage of the Championships it is never too easy ” said PORET. At the bottom side of the draw Poland proceeded to the quarters after victory over Czech Republic in straight matches. Milosz REDZIMSKI and Maciej KUBIK easily prevailed against Simon BELIK and Adam STALZER but after 2:0 Mateusz ZAELEWSKI faced great pressure from Radim MORAVEK. Radim managed to level but Mateusz withstood his spirited come back. “It was great performance from whole team.Every match was very important and Milosz and Maciej played at very high level. I had a good start with 2:0; I played very good but then I started to make too much mistakes. I am happy than I won at the end ” said Mateusz ZAELEWSKI. In last match KLAJBER beat OOST. “We are aiming the medal here and I hope we will reach the medal rostrum ” said KLAJBER. Turkiye overcame Germany 3:1. Ugurcan DURSUN beat Andre BERTELSMEIER in the opening match. Hakan ISIK overcame Hannes HOERMANN and BERTELSMEIER. Vincent SENKBEIL scored the only point for Germany. “We reached the best 8 but we are aiming for more. We hope we will continue to play good at this tournament ” said ISIK. Croatia overcame Sweden 3:1. Borna PETEK and Ivor BAN wo0n two opening matches against David BJORKYARD and Max HEDBOM but Leo VEKIC lost his duel against Charlie WIDING. BAN beat BJORKYARD but he needed full five games again. “It was not easy we had to fight in each duel very hard. It was open duel up until last moment ” said BAN. Italy overcame Ukraine in five matches. Andrea PUPPO recorded two wins against Mykyta ZAVADA and Adrii GREBNIUK Tommaso GIOVANNETI beat ZAVADA whilst Nazar TRETIAK and GREBENIUK scored for Ukraine. “Ukraine has a very strong team especially GREBENIUK. My match against him was very stressful. I started that match under pressure because we were 1:2 down ” said PUPPO. In the Under 15 Boy’s Teams Event France overcame Germany in straight matches to reach the quarterfinal. They will meet Bulgaria. Bulgaria beat Greece previously. Israel will play against Hungary Sweden against Czech Republic and Romania will meet Ukraine. In Round 16 three matches went full distance: Sweden vs. Austria Czech Republic vs. Spain and Ukraine vs. Slovakia.

Top seeded Romania showed no weakness in the match of the Round 16 against Slovenia. In straight matches Ioana SINGEORZAN Elena ZAHARIA and Liciana MOTROFAN prevailed against Sara TOKIC Enya MOLTARA and Polona HORVAT. “It was easy match Only Ioana was challenged in the duel against top Slovenia’s player Sara TOKIC. Nevertheless we are happy that we won this one and we are already focused on the next one. We are here to win the gold and so far everything is going as we expected ” said ZAHARIA. Their next adversary team of Croatia also concluded the Round 16 duel in straight matches. They overcame Slovakia. Zrinka REBIC beat Dominika WILTSCHKOVA Hana ARAPOVIC overcame Adriana ILLASOVA whilst Bruna BOROVEC prevailed against Ema CINCUROVA. “I am very pleased with the way we played. I never thought it will be easy as it was. Zrinka’s victory in the opening phase of the match gave us good push forward ” said ARAPOVIC. We are very happy that we reached the quarters in this style it gives us self confidence ” said Sophia KLEE. Sweden overcame England in straight matches. Matilda HANSSON prevailed against Mari BALDWIN Rebecca MUSKANTOR beat Jasmin WONG and Leah TVEIT MUSCANTOR overcame Anaya PATEL. “It was very good match. Everyone did a good job. We stayed focused from the beginning until the end. Matilda’s win gave us good confidence ” said Leah TVEIT MUSCANTOR. Poland carried on the trend of fast matches. They overcame Spain. Zuzanna WIELGOS overcame Silvia COLL Wiktoria WROBEL beat Ainhoa CRISTOBAL and Anna BRZYSKA accounted for Eugenia SASTRE. “The match was much harder than the results predicts. Two opening matches went full distance and could finish either way. We proved we were better in the closing stage when it meters ” said Anna BRZYSKA. Serbia failed to produce the victory over Czech Republic after thrilling two hours of play.
