The following ten athletes were elected by their peers out of 25 candidates; they will serve a four-year term. The elections were held between Monday 7 to Sunday 13 November. Voting was online using LUMI ®. The number of voters among athletes increased by 18% compared with the election held in 2018 while participation of para-athletes almost tripled. Petra SÖRLING ITTF President commented:”I would like to thank all the candidates and congratulate the ten elected athletes. The Executive Committee and I are looking forward to working closely with them. The Athletes Commission is crucial as it links the athletes and the ITTF ensuring the athletes’ priorities and viewpoints are communicated and represented. I am also delighted by the large increase in the number of votes; our athletes are more and more engaged in the future direction of the sport of table tennis.” All members of the Athletes’ Commission will be invited to the forthcoming ITTF Summit in December in Amman Jordan. At the summit the commission along with IOC Athletes’ Commission member RYU Seung-Min will elect two chairs to sit on the ITTF Executive Committee. Victory for AS Pontoise Cergy TT at the start of Campaign in Group D
In the Groups D in Champions Legue Men AS Pontoise Cergy TT overcame Roskilde Bordtennis BTK 61 in four matches. Marcos FREITAS was the key player with two wins over Michael MAZE (11:5 11:4 11:4) and Jens LUNDQUIST (11:7 11:1 11:4). In the second match CHO Seung Min lost to Jens (9:11 11:8 7:11 7:11) and Esteban DORR overcame Mikkel HINDERSSON (11:5 8:11 11:5 11:6). “It is always tough to play against such experienced players. In the end I am happy we finished with a victory im happy with the way I played and looking forward to the next match against Saarbrucken ” said Marcos FREITAS.

In the opening leg of the Stage three in Europe Cup Women Greek Panathinaikos A.C. beat LZ Linz Froschberg in Austria in straight matches. Ana TOFANT gave guests dream start with the victory over Andrea PAVLOVIC (11:8 11:5 4:11 11:3) before Aikaterini TOLIOU overcame Phantita PINYOPISAN (11:9 11:8 11:9). “ It was a tough match for everyone but we were very well prepared. Ana started very good against PAVLOVIC and gave me confidence for my match after which I was patient until the last point. In the last match PARIDI won very close duel. In the 5th set she was calm and made really good points ” said Aikaterini TOLIOU. Club had nice support in Linz. “We had big support from our fans here and they gave us the motivation to win! After they met mighty Borussia Düsseldorf in Germany last week HB Ostrov Havlíčkův Brod will host KS Dartom Bogoria Grodzisk Mazowiecki in Czech Republic tomorrow. In the opening match of the Champions League Men Second Stage Group A Borussia Düsseldorf recorded 3:1 victory. “We played a very good match in Düsseldorf where we managed to get one point. Of course nobody wants to lose but I was satisfied with the performance of the players. Now we have a match for second place in the group. We will be ready in the strongest lineup Tomáš TREGLER Pavel ŠIRUČEK Michal OBEŠLO and Tomáš MARTINKO. And 400 of our fans in the hall ” promised HB Ostrov’s Manager Miroslav JINEK. For sure Pavel ŠIRUČEK is well aware what they can expect in the second round duel. Pavel won three titles in 2014 2015 and 2016 in Czech League with HB Ostrov before he moved to Poland. TTC Neu-Ulm had a good start of the Stage 2 in Champions Legue
At home soil in their opening match of the Stage 2 of the Champions League Men TTC Neu – Ulm overcame Poland’s K.S. Dekorglass Dzialdowo in four matches. With two wins LIN Yun-Ju was a backbone of team’s succes this morning. LIN Yun-Ju overcame Jakub DYJAS in the opening match in four games (8:11 11:7 11:6 11:7) and prevailed in straight games against Jonathan GROTH (13:11 12:10 11:4). Truls MOREGARDH also prevailed against GROTH (11:7 4:11 11:5 11:6). Dimitrij OVTCHAROV lost his encounter against Kaii KONISHII (7:11 6:11 11:5 9:11). With the away win in Italy TTC Berlin eastside commenced thir campaign in this year’s Champions League Women with the victory against ASD Quattro Mori Cagliari. Five times winers of the event German club needed some time to warm up tonight. Romania’s Andreea DRAGOMAN gave the hosts better start. She beat Sabina SURJAN (11:6 11:5 6:11 11:7) in the opening duel. SHAN Xiaona on her first exit to the table met Tania PLAIAN (8:11 14:12 13:11 11:8); in a second match she overcame Andreea DRAGOMAN (12:10 11:6 11:8). Nina MITTELHAM succeeded against Edem OFFIONG (11:4 16:14 11:7). „We are very happy that we managed to win. It was not an easy match. Andalucia 2022 World Para Table Tennis Championships came to a conclusion
Tonight Andalucia 2022 World Para Table Tennis Championships came to a conclusion. A tournament that had raised the bar for Para table tennis finished with the matches in the singles events. In the playing hall a total of 39 events Korea Republic set the standard winning no less than 10 gold; KIM Gitae class 11 emerged the most successful player. He secured gold in all three possible events – men’s singles men’s doubles mixed doubles – the only player to achieve the feat. Overall on the final day of play a total of 10 titles were on offer the level of excitement nerves and emotion as prevalent as six days earlier when the first service crossed the net. A first title in the individual events at a World Para Table Tennis Championships for NAM Kiwon; it was the same in women’s singles class 9 for Hungary’s Alexa SVITACS; she beat Australia’s LEI Li Na the winner at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games to arrest the title (4-11 11-7 11-9 11-9). “I don’t know what can I say. It my first World Championships and I’ve won; when I lost some match points I was a little nervous because I lost against her at the Tokyo Paralympic Games. I hope in future I will get the gold medal in Paris ” said Alexa SVITACS. Poland’s Dorota BUCKLAW overcame Aino TAPOLA (6-11 11-7 11-7 11-6) to win the first ever class 1 women’s singles title at a World Para Table Tennis Championships. “I feel fantastic it’s the first-time class 1 has been separate from class 2; that has allowed me to match my level with players of a similar disability. I must say that I have really enjoyed my time in Granada; I hope to come back with my family ” stated Dorota BUCKLAW. Gold for Dorota BUCKLAW but not for compatriot Natalia Partyka who was seeking no less than her seventh women’s singles class 10 title at a World Para Table Tennis Championships. In the final she was beaten by Australia’s YANG Qian (11-5 11-7 11-8). Poland’s Patryk CHOJNOWSKI captured the men’s singles class 10 title; at the final hurdle he beat Indonesia’s David JACOBS (11-9 11-9 11-7). “I think I did not play that well chaotic but I won gold; this week I’ve been a bit stressed the important thing is that I managed to cope with the stress and win here in Granada ” said Patryk CHOJNOWSKI. TTC Neu Ulm awaits KS Dekorglass Dzialdowo at home
TTC Neu Ulm enters the stage of the Champions League Men this Sunday. German side is completed after biggest stars of the table tennis spent most of the autumn in Asia at the tournaments. Poland’s KS Dekorglass Dzialdowo already started their campaign in Group C of the Champions League Men with the victory over Sporting Clube de Portugal (3:0). This Sunday they travel to Germany to meet TTC Neu Ulm. „All players are in good shape. They put in a great performance in Asia and rested for a few days afterwards. Now the focus is on the Champions League. Every group in the Champions League is strong. We are now focusing first on the match against the Polish team on Sunday. This game is very important for us. At home and in front of our home crowd ” said coach Dima MAZUNOV. “The goal is of course to successfully master the group and advance to the quarterfinals.” With such heavyweights like no. 4 in the World Tomokazu HARIMOTO no. 5 Truls MOREGARDH no. 8 YUN Ju Lin and No 9 Dimitrij OVTCHAROV there is no doubt who is the favorite for the top position in the Group. TTC Neu Ulm has the strongest line up in the Champions Legue this season. At the WTT Cup Finals Xinxiang 2022 HARIMOTO reached the final after he beat OVTCHAROV in the semis. YUN Ju Lin and MOREGARDH lost in the quarters. At the WTT Champions Macao Truls played in the semis their shape is at the highest level already. In Previous stage Germany’s club recorded three victories all three in straight matches. Linz AG Froschberg overcame TT Moravsky Krumlov on their first match this season
In Czech Republic in their opening match of the Champions League Austria’s Linz AG Froschberg overcame TT Moravsky Krumlov in straight matches. At the start Valeriia SHCHERBATYKH lost to Suthasini SAWETTABUT in four games (7:11 11:9 9:11 12:14). Sofia POLCANOVA needed one game less to prevail against Mitsuki YOSHIDA (11:4 11:7 11:6). At the end Yulia PROKHOROVA overcame Ekaterina CHERNYAVSKAYA (11:4 11:13 11:9 11:9). „This is good win “ said PROKHOROVA.“ I hoped that I will have the chance in my career to play in the Champions League and at age of 35 my dream come true.“ Manager Robert RENNER explained: „We did a very good job. First game is never too easy. Players were a little bit nerveus from the start the game could go either way. However we showed a little bit more routine then our adversary.“ Speking of TT Moravsky Krumlov RENNER added:“ We are very happy that we had an oportunity to play against the new club in the Champions League.
