SAMSONOV and PARTYKA in semi final

CCB Europe Top 16 Cup in Montreux

In the semi final of the CCB Europe Top 16 Cup in Montreux in Men’s Event Timo BOLL will meet Dimitrij OVTCHAROV in all Germany’s clash whilst Austria’s Daniel HABESOHNH will play against Vladimir SAMSONOV of Belarus.

 

In the youngest Women’s semifinal since 1993: Sofia POLCANOVA (24) of Austria will play against Petrissa SOLJA (24) of Germany and Bernadette SZOCS (23) of Romania will meet Natalia PARTYKA (29) of Poland. The average age is 25 whilst in 1993 the average was just under 24 with CIOSU (22) BADESCU (23) NEMES (24) an Asa SVENSSON (26).

 

In the last quarterfinal match Vladimir SAMSONOV prevailed against Panagiotis GIONIS of Greece (11:7 10:12 11:4 11:2 11:3).

 

“ I started well but in the second game I played to risky. I wanted to finish the points quickly and I allowed GIONIS to take control. However I stayed calm and changed tactics; I played much safer ” stated SAMSONOV.” I played maybe once against HABESOHN but it was long time ago. Whatever was before he improved his game and he showed here that he is in very good shape here.”

 

Natalia PARTYKA beat the odds and reached the place among top four players. In the quarters she overcame Georgina POTA of Hungary (11:7 11:9 11:6 6:11 13:11).

 

“If I could always play relaxed like I did today. I was completely stress free and pressure free. The odds were against me but I did not think about it. In already upset the rankings so I do not have anything to lose and I hope I will continue in same winning pace tomorrow ” said PARTYKA.
