Young Talents Gather for the JOOLA European Youth Series – Bosnia and Herzegovina Open

The 2025 edition of the JOOLA European Youth Series – Bosnia and Herzegovina Open is set to take place in Sarajevo, from April 16 to 20, bringing together some of Europe’s most promising young table tennis players. The event will be held at the Sportski Centar Ilijaš and marks the third stop of the series, following successful tournaments in Türkiye and Croatia.

U13 Mixed Teams: Continental Competition in Two Groups

The U13 Mixed Teams event features ten teams divided into two groups of five, competing in a round-robin format during the group stage. Each tie consists of nine individual matches, with every win contributing one point to the team total.

Following the group phase, group winners will face off in the final, while the second-placed teams will compete for 3rd place. The third-placed teams will play for 5th, and fourth-placed for 7th, all under the same best-of-nine format.

The competition welcomes teams from across Europe, including several mixed-nationality squads.

  • BIH 1 features Mia HADŽOVIĆ and Zara ZLOTRG, alongside Beriz BAJROVIĆ and Luka SUČIĆ.
  • BIH 2 includes Lejla BOTONJIĆ and Irina PETKOVIĆ, with Emir ZJAKIĆ and Enes ZUKAN.
  • Croatia is represented by Karla IVČIĆ and Sara RIVETTI, joined by Ivan SMILJANIĆ and Matija ZOHIL.
  • A Croatia/Italy mixed team brings together Vilma DESPOT, Ginevra DONETTI, and Serena ROSSATI on the girls’ side, with Edwin PAVIĆ and Giorgio BORGHESE competing for the boys.
  • England fields Amber LEMMON and Cindy XIAO, along with Kai Lun CHOW, Zihan LIN, and Lewis WU.
  • Italy relies on Claudia BERTOLINI and Alice BORSANI, joined by Pietro CAMPAGNA and Tommaso SIMI.
  • Montenegro is represented by Kalina BOŽOVIĆ and Lara FRANETA, with Đorđe MITRIĆ and Milan VUČETIĆ.
  • ROU 1 includes Nadalia IONAȘCU and Kariss Yasmin ȘERBAN, with Mihai IORDAN and Alexandru POP.
  • ROU 2 features Ioana IONESCU and Teodora SARDENI, joined by Albert Armand CZIGLER and Matei NIȚĂ.
  • Serbia competes with Sara NAMESTOVSKI and Nikolina STANIĆ, while Bence NAMESTOVSKI represents the boys.

U15 Mixed Teams: 16 Squads, Two-Stage Format

The U15 Mixed Teams event brings together 16 teams, divided into four groups of four. Stage 1 follows a round-robin format, with each tie consisting of nine matches. Teams earn one point per individual win.

The top two teams from each group advance to the A Finals, where they will compete in progressive knockout matches for positions 1–8. The bottom two teams enter the B Finals, battling for positions 9–16 under the same knockout format.

  • CRO/ITA: Viktorija OSLAKOVIĆ, Laura ŠAKIĆ, Mateo TERIHAJ, and Giulio CAMPAGNA
  • Cyprus is represented by Aphrodite ACHILLIDES, Marina LOIZOU, Christos TOULOUMIS, and Giorgos TZIAMBOS.
  • England brings Alyssa NGUYEN, Soraya RAHMANI-WALENTYNSKA, Hannah SAUNDERS, Dimitar DIMITROV, Kacper PIWOWAR, and Pablo RAMIREZ RIOJA.
  • Finland/Latvia team features Kamilla KADAR, Anastasija ZIBUNOVA, Jimi KOIVUMÄKI, and Eetu MÄKELÄ.
  • Georgia is represented by Mariam GORGADZE, Barbare SIKHARULIDZE, Davit CHEDISHVILI, and Mate GAMBARASHVILI.
