RILIŠKYTĖ makes it eight in a row as SKUČAS returns to the top

Kornelija RILIŠKYTĖ and Matas SKUČAS claimed the singles titles at the Lithuanian National Championships.

In the women’s singles, RILIŠKYTĖ continued her remarkable dominance, securing her eighth consecutive national title. She defeated her twin sister Emilija RILIŠKYTĖ in the final (4-1), after both players advanced convincingly through the semifinals. Kornelija overcame Eivilė ABRAMAVIČIŪTĖ (4-0), while Emilija defeated Lukrecija JUCHNAITĖ by the same score.

The men’s singles competition featured tighter battles, particularly in the semifinals. Kęstutis ŽEIMYS defeated Ignas ŠIŠANOVAS (4-2), while SKUČAS edged past Ervinas UZIALO in a seven-game thriller (4-3). In the final, SKUČAS ended ŽEIMYS’ two-year reign as champion with a 4-2 victory, marking his return to the national title after a 15-year gap.

RILIŠKYTĖ’s dominance extended beyond singles, as she completed a treble. She won the women’s doubles title alongside Emilija RILIŠKYTĖ and also triumphed in mixed doubles with ŽEIMYS, successfully defending all three titles from the previous year.
