HYLO Champions League scores China media breakthrough

The European Table Tennis Union (ETTU), together with its longstanding Munich-based agency antesi media gmbh (antesi), is proud to announce a major breakthrough in the Chinese media market for the HYLO ETTU Champions League Men. Leveraging the growing popularity of European club table tennis in China, ETTU and antesi have worked with Aurora Sports Group (ASG) as the exclusive strategic partner in China to secured agreements with six leading Chinese media outlets, significantly expanding the visibility of ETTU competitions in the world’s largest table tennis market.

Since the start of the 2025/26 season, Chinese Olympic champion FAN Zhendong has been competing for German club 1. FC Saarbrücken TT in the HYLO ETTU Champions League. His participation in Europe’s premier club competition has triggered an unprecedented wave of interest among Chinese fans and media in European table tennis and, in particular, in HYLO ETTU Champions League matches.

Building on this momentum, ASG has strategically orchestrated media rights partnerships with a strong line-up of Chinese platforms. Bilibili, Douyin, iQiyi, Migu and Youku sports will stream HYLO ETTU Champions League matches on their respective digital platforms, making the competition widely accessible to Chinese fans across multiple devices and viewing habits.

In addition, CCTV 5, China’s leading sports free-to-air channel, will serve as the exclusive free-to-air partner in China for the HYLO ETTU Champions League Final 4. This marks a significant milestone in positioning the HYLO ETTU Champions League alongside the most prestigious international sports properties featured on Chinese television.

ETTU President Pedro MOURA commented:

“This partnership opens a new chapter for the HYLO ETTU Champions League. By strengthening our presence in China, we are bringing European table tennis to one of the most passionate audiences in the world and reinforcing our global ambitions.”

The collaboration between ETTU, antesi and Aurora Sports Group is designed as a long-term strategic partnership aimed at establishing European table tennis under the ETTU umbrella as a fully developed and recognisable premium product in China. All parties will continue to work closely together to enhance the production, distribution and storytelling around the HYLO ETTU Champions League and other ETTU properties for Chinese audiences, stakeholders and commercial partners.
