Hungarian National Championships 2025: Historic Joint Event with Para Table Tennis

The Hungarian National Table Tennis Championships 2025 will take place from March 21–23 in the city of Cegléd, marking a historic milestone as the Hungarian Para National Championships will be held simultaneously on March 22 for the first time in the tournament’s 120-year history.

A total of 197 players have entered the five events, with the men’s singles attracting the largest field of 108 competitors. The number of participants has steadily increased over the past five years, reflecting the growing interest in the sport.

Men’s Singles – An Open Battle for the Title

The men’s singles competition is expected to be highly competitive, with a wide-open field. The leading contenders include:

  • Bence MAJOROS
  • Nándor ECSEKI
  • Csaba ANDRÁS

However, they will face strong challenges from Hungary’s top junior players:

  • Balázs LEI
  • Dávid SZÁNTOSI

With such a competitive lineup, an intense battle for the title is anticipated.

Women’s Singles – POTA the Leading Favorite

In the women’s singles, Georgina POTA is the top favorite to claim the title. However, several strong contenders could pose a serious threat, including:

  • Dóra MADARÁSZ
  • Bernadett BÁLINT
  • Mercédesz NAGYVÁRADI

With a mix of experience and rising talent, surprises in the women’s competition cannot be ruled out.
