Read MoreThe Champions League is the premier international club competition in European table tennis. The Men’s European Champions League was launched in the 1998/99 season, replacing the European Club Cup of Champions, which had served as the top-tier European club event since 1960/61.
The inaugural Champions League Men’s Final 4 format was introduced in 2024.
FC Saarbrücken TT successfully defended their title at the 2025 HYLO Champions League Final 4. In the final, held at Saarlandhalle Saarbrücken, the reigning champions once again triumphed over Borussia Düsseldorf, repeating the outcome of last year’s decisive clash. On the opening day, Saarbrücken secured their place in the final by defeating Polish contenders KS Global Pharma Orlicz 1924 Suchedniów.
Borussia Düsseldorf remains the most successful club in the history of the Men’s Champions League, with twelve titles to their name. They claimed their first title in the 1988/89 season. La Villette Charleroi of Belgium ranks second, with seven titles, including a remarkable streak of four consecutive victories from 2001 to 2004.
Four clubs have each lifted the trophy five times: CSM Cluj, Slavia/Sparta Praha, Spartacus Budapest, and Fakel Gazprom Orenburg (with titles in 2011/12, 2012/13, 2014/15, 2016/17, and 2018/19).
Just behind them is GSTK Vjesnik Zagreb with four titles, while TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau has been crowned champion three times.

The European Table Tennis Union (ETTU) is the governing body of the sport of table tennis in Europe, and is the only authority recognized for this purpose by the International Table Tennis Federation. The ETTU deals with all matters relating to table tennis at a European level, including the development and promotion of the sport in the territories controlled by its 58 member associations, and the organization of continental table tennis competitions, including the European Championships.
