Europe Cup Women 2024: Group A Concludes as Battles Intensify in Remaining Groups

On the second day of the opening stage of the Europe Cup Women 2024 in Burgos, Spain, the battle in Group A has already concluded, while the fight for two spots leading to the next stage continues in the remaining three groups.

In Group A, CP LYSSOIS Lille Métropole, featuring Filippa BERGAND, Shuohan MEN, and Sandra KOZIOL, secured the top position. Today, they defeated Poland’s KS WAMET DOBRY WIĄZAR DĄBCZE, following their victory over Hungary’s Győri AC yesterday. Hungary’s team, with Bernadett BÁLINT, Alexa SZVITÁCS, and Sophie BARCSAI, progresses to the next stage from second place, finishing with one win and one defeat.

IIn Group B, Turkey’s Fenerbahçe Sports Club and Poland’s FIBRAIN KU AZS POLITECHNIKA Rzeszów leads with two wins, followed by Spain’s MIRÓ GANXETS REUS and Italy’s A.S.D. Tennistavolo Norbello, each with one win and one loss. Fenerbahçe, who defeated Italy’s A.S.D. Tennistavolo Norbello yesterday, fell today in straight matches to MIRÓ GANXETS REUS. Takara MURAKAMI, Margaryta PESOTSKA, and Elvira Fiona RAD lost only one game in today’s match. However, in the last round of the day Fenerbahçe beat Rzeszów.

In Group C, Austria’s SCO Bodensdorf edged Drumchapel Glasgow TTC in a five-match thriller. Hannah SILCOCK recorded two wins for the Scottish side, but Katarina STRAZAR, Aleksandra VOVK, and Lea PAULIN each secured victories for the Austrian team. Poland’s BEBETTO AZS UJD CZĘSTOCHOWA tops the group with two wins. Anastasiya DYMYTRENKO, Tetyana BILENKO, and Martyna LIS overcame Spain’s SON CLADERA TTC Mallorca today.

In Group D, Universidad de Burgos – RM Terán recorded two wins. Maria BERZOSA, Gabriela FEHER, and Candela MOLERO defeated AD MURAVERA TT “B” today, solidifying their strong position.
