GAC Group 2015 ITTF World Tour German Open in Bremen starts tomorow. A Super Series tournament, an overall prize fund of US$ 220,000 is on offer, with the winners of each of the Men’s Singles and Women’s Singles events collecting US$ 26,000.

No less than nine of the top twelve names on the current Men’s World Ranking list have entered; whilst for the Women, seven of the elite names are Bremen bound.

Currently China’s MA Long, YAN An and ZHANG Jike are all named in the Men’s Singles event, as are Chinese Taipei’s CHUANG Chih-Yuan, Portugal’s Marcos FREITAS and Vladimir SAMSONOV of Belarus.

However, of the star names on duty, the two who will attract the greatest attention will no doubt be the host nation’s Dimitrij OVTCHAROV and Timo BOLL; both are set fair from Bremen.

“I am looking forward to see MA Long and ZHANG Jike again in Germany. Every time we play each other these are great matches,” stated Timo BOLL.

Coach Jörg ROSSKOPF added : “The German Open are also a test for our doubles towards the Olympics in Rio. We want to test our possible Olympic combinations beforehand. At the same time, the chances of our top doubles in Bremen are quite good.”
