Reigning Men`s ECL champion, AS Pontoise Cergy made a vigorously start of 2014/15 season, defeating at home six times champion of Denmark Roskilde Bordtennis 3:0. It could say that French side beat former European champions, having in mind that Roskilde`s trio, Michael MAZE, Finn TUGWELL and Allan BENTSEN reached gold on 2005 European Championship at Aarhus, as Danish national team.

Marcos FREITAS pushed his side to the victory defeating Finn TUGWELL in four games. World`s no. 12 lost opening set, but easily won next three.

Former Charleroi`s WANG Jian Jun secured maybe crucial point to the host, prevailed Michael MAZE in four sets. Roskilde’s calculation in MECL is clear: they need 2009 individual European champion in a good mood to have a chance to surprise such good team s Pontoise is. Dan, currently no. 28 on ITTF list, was mostly equal with Chinese during the encounter, but two out of three narrowly sets belonged to the host.

Kristian KARLSSON provided fast win for the champions. He was better than experienced Allan BENTSEN, defeating him in straight games.
