Saarbrucken overcame LIEBHERR Ochsenhausen: in the first leg of the Men’s ETTU Cup final in Biberach. Now at home soil they will play for title. In first leg Bojan TOKIC gave guests dream start against Olympic champion from 2004, Korean RYU Seung Min 1:3. Liam PITCHFORD won his game against Bastian STEGER and Tiago APOLONIA faced no problems against Simon GAUZY.

“First match was very good. The  were focused on their game and they all played very good,” stated manager Nicolas BARROIS. “Most important was definitely the 3:1 victory of Bojan against RYU.”

The biggest part of the job is done. However there is still second half of the game to be played. “Despite the result that goes in our favor, we do not think, that we are already champions. I think that Ochsenhausen will try everything to win this second game. And in table tennis even a 3:0 in the second game is possible.”

APOLONIA had problems with his shoulder in last match:” Our players are all right now. They practiced really well in the last two weeks. Now they want to take the next step to win this Cup.”

TTF president Kristijan PEJINOVIC added: “We have to be realistic, there is no chance any more to win the Cup. We spoiled it in the first game when we wanted too much and were unable and especially too nervous to make it. It was similar than whole season which was not a good one for us. But now we can play free and I want the team to fight and to conclude this season with a good performance. We want to show who we are before we congratulate Saarbrucken.”
