Christian PLETEA of Romania concluded day two of the competition at the Cadet Boys Event at European Top 10 in Tours on leading position. After six rounds his score is 5:1. Denis IVONIN of Russia is second, whilst Gerrit ENGEMANN of Germany occupies position no. three.

The day in Municipal Center of Sports in Tours started with the thrilling duel between Gerrit ENGEMANN of Germany and Denis IVONIN of Russia 4:3 (-8, 10, -6, 5, -9, 5, 19). “It is the first time that I beat IVONIN. I am happy I did it in great style. It was unbelievable match – 21:19 in the decisive game,” said ENGEMANN.

In next round three matches went full distance. Artur ABUSEV of Russia needed seven games to overcame Nolan GIVONE of France. Tomas JARVIS of England upset the favorite; player from England beat Andrei PUTUNTICA of Moldova. In the morning Irvin BERTRAND of France suffered first defeat at the tournament in the match against top seed Artur ABUSEV, but he returned on the winning tracks against Andreas DILLING. However he also had to go through agonizing seven games.

In next two rounds PLETEA succeeded against Gerrit ENGEMANN and Artur ABUSEV to justifies his position.  Two matches went full distance in the fifth round: Artur ABUSEV beat Nolan GIVONE and Andrei PUTUNTICA lost against Tom JARVIS in decisive seventh game.

At the top of the Cadet Girls list is Andrea DRAGOMAN of Romania. Another Romania’s player follows – Adina DIACONU is placed at position no. two, whilst ZHANG Xuan of Spain is third.

Andrea DRAGOMAN of Romania upset the top favorite for the title, Adina DIACONU in the opening round and she continued with the good games on the second day of the tournament in Tours. In fourth round she beat Maria TAYLAKOVA of Russia. “Last time I suffered defeat against her. Now I played much better. For me, it was also surprise to beat DIACONU. Now I think I can win the tournament,” said DRAGOMANN.

In very close duel Izabela LUPULESKU of Serbia overcame Belarus Daria TRIGOLOS. She needed full seven games. It was the longest match in the fourth round.

Anastasia KOLISH had mixed record against Serbian players today. First she overcame Sabina SURJAN and then lost against Izabela LUPULESKU. “Izabela controlled the game perfectly. She had all the answers for Anastasia’s change of pace of rotation…On the other side we have great problem with Sabina’s injury. It is getting worst and she is far from her top play,” said coach Slobodan STOJANOV.

In last round of the day Adina beat Daria TRIGOLOS, but the most thrilling game was the one between Lisa LUNG and Anastasia KOLISH. Belgium’s player succeeded in seven games.
