The play off match in Men’s Team Challenge Division at the LIBEHERR European Championships between Denmark and Bulgaria in the Challenge Division attracted a lot of attention yesterday. Whilst the penultimate stage of the Men’s Champions Division was on the way, suddenly all the photographers started rushing into the Hall 2. The reason was first and only appearance at the Championships for a great champion, Michael MAZE.

After months of struggling with the injuries and surgeries MAZE played his first match. “I am not ready yet. I had to play because the regulation for the World rankings. I had to play otherwise I will be erased from the list since I was not playing for a year. I entered the game against GOLOVANOV, and now I will go home,” explained MAZE.

It has been hard period for Dane. “I can play without pain killers now, which is great news. I slowly build up my shape. Doctor predicted it will take 9 to 12 months before complete recovery and I hope in December or January I will be back entirely.”
