The back bone of Turkish success was European champion Viktoria PAVLOVICH. She overcame JIA Jun and Renata STRBIKOVA. In the opening duel she showed no mercy, but the decisive match in today’s duel was very close. STRBIKOVA stretched Viktoria to full distance. However after three hours and 40 minutes the Turkish side recorded opening leg victory.

HU Melek added important point against LI Qian, but Elizabeta SAMARA struggled against HAN Ying. SAMARA recovered after 2:0 in reverse, leveled with 12:10 and 11:9 in third and fourth game, but lost decisive set.

“I lost my duel, but after five games, and that is also important for overall score. We played very good, the atmosphere was great.
