Luxembourg?s national championships: crown for HAAN and CIOCIU

14/02/2010 – Simone HAAN from R?mech and Traian CIOCIU from Iechternach clinched the crown at the Luxembourg’s national championships in singles held this weekend.

In the final HAAN beat Danielle KONSBRUCK (Rued) 4:1 (5, 8, 5, -8,11). In penultimate stage Simone overcame Tessy GONDERINGER (Houwald) 4:3 (-6, -4, 4, 8, -5, 4, 6), whilst KONSBRUCK succeeded against Peggy REGENWETTER (Nidderk?jeng) 4:3 (9, 8, -9, -9, 7, -3, 9).

In men’s Singles Event Traian CIOCIU (Iechternach) beat Gilles MICHELY (Diddeleng) in straight games 4:0 (10, 9, 10, 9). In semi final CIOCIU beat David JACHEC (Diddeleng) 4:0 (8, 3, 7, 3). Gilles MICHELY beat J???RAISON (Nidderk?jeng) 4:1 (-4, 7, 7, 11, 9).

In Mixed Doubles medal winners are:
1. Gilles MICHELY / Carole HARTMANN (Diddeleng / Iechternach)
2. Claude BOUSCHET / Peggy REGENWETTER (Bech-Maacher / Nidderk?jeng)
