Sweden, Romania, Czech Republic and Poland in the semis of the Under 13 Challenge in Podgorica
On the second day of the play at the 2022 Europe Under 13 Challenge in Podgorica the Group stage concluded. Tomorrow the individual events starts as well as the Mixed Teams semi finals which will determine the medal rostrum positions. In the A semi final Sweden will meet Poland and Romania will play against Czech Republic.
Sweden's Adam WALLIN, Mark USOV, Siri BENJAGARD and Gabriela AALTONEN upset the rankings and succeeded to the top of the Group G with two wins. They beat top seeds Austria 3:2 and Spain 4:1. Austria beat Spain in last round.
Romania's players justified their status. Robert ISTRATE, Mihai NAGY, Andreea BAISU and Alexandrab DICU beat Belgium 5:0 and Croatia 4:1. Croatia accounted for Belgium in the opening round of the day.
Romania will meet Czech Republic in the match for the final. Jan SKALDA, Jakub KABELKA, Hanka KODETOVA and Tereza KOVARICKOVA beat Italy and the team overcame England. Italy beat England as well to finish second in the Group.
Until the very last moment the standings in Group J were uncertain. All three teams: Poland, Germany and Portugal had 5:5 in matches and finished with 3:2 victory and 2:3 defeat each. However, in games ratio, Poland prevailed. Katarzyna RAJKOWSKA and Samuel MICHINA, Anna ULATOWSKA and Aleks PAKULA finished first. Portugal is second and Germany third.
