Win for AS Pontoise Cergy TT in their last match in Group D

AS Pontoise Cergy TT concluded the run in Stage 2 of the Champions League Men with the straight matches victory over Roskilde Bordtennis BTK 61. It is second win for French team in Group D against the Danish club. Previously, AS Pontoise Cergy TT also suffered defeats in both encounters against 1. FC Saarbrücken TT.

Jens LUNDQUIST stretched Emmanuel LEBESSON to full distance, but European champions from 2016, prevailed (9:11, 11:5, 8:11, 11:7, 6:3).

Marcos FREITAS showed no mercy against another former singles champion, Michael MAZE (11:4, 11:7, 11:9), whilst the match against Mikkel HINDERSSON and Esteban DORR lasted five games again. Once again guest prevailed (11:9, 9:11, 10:12, 11:1, 6:4).

"We are happy with the victory and pleased with the second position in the Group which will take us to the quarterfinal of the Europe Cup," stated FREITAS." Speaking of my match, it is never easy to play against MAZE. Although he is not in his best of shape, Michael is very experienced. He was top player and it is always very difficult to play against him. Beside my match the other two were equally hard. Both went full distance, with fifth decisive game limited to six points. You never know how it could end and i think we had a little bit of luck today."

In the last duel of the Group, Roskilde Bordtennis BTK 61 will play against FC Saarbrücken TT on Sunday. So far Germany’s club recorded three wins, whilst Danich club has three defeats.
