Junior Girls

Elena ZAHARIA of Romania forced Ozge YILMAZ of Turkey into the first defeat. Despite straight games victory the battle was much closer than the results predicts. After all the drama on the opening day Jamila LAURENTI of Italy had a more peaceful Sunday morning. In the fourth round she overcame Ece HARAC in straight games. Also unbeaten on a first day, Camille LUTZ of France, faced first defeat at the tournament. In close seven games match she lost to Vlada VORONINA of Russia.

In the fifth Round Elena ZAHARIA proved too strong for Ece HARAC of Turkey.

“Today everything goes by the plan. Yesterday, it was hard day for me. I lost to Camille LUTZ. She played at the very good level and I could not stop her. However, I get over it, it is just one match, there are plenty to play here, so I hope it will all end well,” said ZAHARIA.

Vlada VORONINA of Russia beat Ozge YILMAZ in long seven games thriller to book the second position, whilst ZAHARIA is third. Camille LUTZ of France hods the top position.

Camille LUTZ won the long seven games battle against Sophie KLEE in the sixth round and she will start the last day fof the competition at the top position. Also, with 11 points, Vlada VORONINA finished the day second and also with only one defeat is Elena ZAHARIA on position no. three. ZAHARIA and VORIONINA are yet to play against each other.

Junior Boys

In Junior Boys Event Thibault PORET of France had a great chance to remain unbeaten at the tournament after four rounds with 2:1 and 3:2 in games against Poland's Maciej KUBIK. Maciej thought differently and in last two games moved to another gear to win the match. In addition Borgar HAUG of Norway also remain in the club of four players with only one defeat after victory over Darius MOVILEANU of Romania in another seven games thriller.

Unlike the previous day, Saturday was not good at all for PORET. In the second match in the row he suffered defeat. This time it was by the hands of Csaba ANDRAS of Hungary.The top of the standings changed once again. Ivor BAN moved to second position and left the top for Csaba ANDRAS. Borgar HAUG of Norway overcame Eduard IONESCU and reached the third spot. After shaky start Maciej KUBIK recovered and he is currently at the position no. four after five rounds.

“I lost two matches at the beginning, but I always was aware I can overcame that deficit. Today I play much better,” said KUBIK.” Against Adam KLAYBER I had a good start, he improved his game in the next game, but I managed to came through. He surprised me, I did not expect that he could play at such good level.”

Borgar HAUG of Norway and Ivor BAN of Croatia ended the day at the position no. one. Ivor BAN overcame Eduard IONESCU in the last round of the day.

“It is very good result to beat Eduard IONESCU and to do that in straight games, but I am not happy with my play,” said BAN.

Thibault PORET, Maciej KUBIK and Csaba ANDRAS have 10 point each.

Cadet Girls

In Cadet girls event it is almost impossible to predict the winner. There is no unbeaten player in the field as Clea DE STOPPELEIRE of France faced first defeat in the fourth round. Mia GRIESEL of Germany was the player who inflicted the pain in host nation supporters heart. Matilde PINTO of Portugal recorded her first victory a the tournament. She accounted for Sara TOKIC of Slovenia.

After fifth round, three players emerged to the top of the standings. Dominika WILTSCHKOVA of Slovakia beat Leana HOCHART of France to add fourth win to the scoreboard. Veronika MATIUNINA of Ukraine needed only four games to overcame Mia GRIESEL of Germany also in straight games, whilst Bianca MEI ROSU of Romania needed one more to overcame another French representative Clea DE STOPPELEIRE.

At the end of the day 2 it is Ukraine's Veronika MATIUNINA who emerged at the top position. On her way to the leading position at the standings, Veronika overcame Bianca MEI ROSU in the sixth round. After seven games thriller against no. one seed Dominika WILTSCHKOVA, Clea DE STOPPELEIRE of France concluded the day as second whilst Germany's Mia GRIESEL and MEI ROSU shares the third position.

Cadet Boys

Only Iulian CHIRITA of Romania remained unbeaten after four rounds of play in the Cadet Boys event. He overcame Stepan BRHEL of Czech Republic in straight games. Ilia KONIUKHOV of Russia also needed four games to overcame David BJORKRYD of Sweden and Flavien COTON of France was in the fast lane in the morning session in Tours.

Iulian CHIRITA overcame another hurdle in superb style. The only unbeaten player at the tournament, so far, Romania's representative beat Ilia KONIUKHOV of Russia in straight games. The fifth round was successful for another Romania's player Dragos Alexandru BUJOR overcame Tom CLOSSET of Belgium to reach the second position at the standings. Ilia KONIUKHOV is third.

Iulian CHIRITA justified his status and he will start the ultimate day of the tournament at the top of the standings.

“The most difficult match for me today, was the duel against Ilia KONIUKHOV. I played for a first time against him,” explained CHIRITA.”Tomorrow, will also be very tough, but I am self confident. I played many times against all the adversary I m going to meet on the last day.”

His compatriot Dragos Alexandru BUJOR has one defeat in six rounds, and he holds second position, whilst Hungary's David SZANTOSI is third.
