Jiří VRÁBLÍK and Hana MATELOVÁ clinched the titles in Czech Republic

Hana MATELOVÁ and Jiří VRÁBLÍK clinched the titles at the Czech Republic National Championships held in the National Training Centre in Havířov. While the current women's Czech number one extended her series of victories to five in a row and won the seventh title overall, former Czech national team member Jiří VRÁBLÍK rejoiced at the gold medal in the single for the first time.

And it was a great joy. In the semifinals, he defeated Tomáš TREGLER 4:3. In the final, junior Šimon BĚLÍK was waiting for him. BELIK beat experienced Dmitri Prokopcov 4:1 in the semifinals. VRÁBLÍK defeated the young opponent 11:9 in the seventh game.

"It's my first singles title, but I haven't played the championship in six years. When I came to the El Niño club in Prague from Poland in the summer, coach Petr KAUCKÝ told me to go to the Championship. I'm very glad he persuaded me, " said VRÁBLÍK after the match.

The women's finale was not that dramatic. Hana MATELOVÁ clearly pursued her goal in the match with Kateřina TOMANOVSKÁ, and in the end, without losing the game, she won the fifth title in singles in a row.

"It was definitely not easy, because Kateřina and I know each other very well. I was very nervous before the match. I think we can both play a better than the fans saw in the final. I'm very happy that I managed it, " said MATELOVA about the final.

Tamara TOMANOVÁ won her first title of champion of the republic in Havířov. Together with Markéta ŠEVČÍKOVÁ, they won the Women's Doubles. The pair Michal OBEŠLO, Radek SKÁLA won gold in the men's doubles. The home club also celebrated success. Havířov pairings Petr DAVID, Kristýna ŠTEFCOVÁ defeated Patrik KLOSE and Tamara TOMANOVÁ in the final.

The winners of the U21 singles must not be missing from the list of championship titles. Ostrava's junior Tomáš MARTINKO won the men's singles U21, while Zdena BLAŠKOVÁ defended the title in the women's singles U21.
