Saint-Denis Us 93 clinched the title at the Tamanneftegas Women's Europe Cup

Saint-Denis Us 93 won the first ever title at the Tamanneftegas Women's Europe Cup Final. At the ultimate stage of the event they overcame Hungarian SH-ITB Budaörsi in fantastic five matches thriller.

Georgina POTA took an early control of the match against Camille LUTZ who managed to put some pressure only in third game. It finished by narrow margin, but POTA left the table unbeaten. Prithika PAVADE was severely tested in the match against Sabina SURJANA, but in the decisive game, once again she showed she can not lose. She won the fifth game 6:0.

Maria FAZEKAS had 2:0 lead before Lieili MOSTAFAVI recovered to level. She maintained solid performance in the fifth game, but Maria withstood her spirited comeback.

Still unbeaten at the European tournaments, Prithika PAVADE confirmed her dominancy in the duel against Georgina POTA. For a second time in the day Sabina SURJAN was on duty in the decisive match. This time she failed to beat Camille LUTZ.

“I never expected this. No one of us did. I played bad at the beginning of the tournament, but now everything fit to place. I am so proud of my teammates,” said LUTZ.

The player of the tournament Prithika PAVADE was modest.

“I am feeling proud, but I was not alone there. I needed mye team to win the third point in every match. My victories counts only with them,” said PAVADE.

Novi Sad beat two favorites from the Champions League, on their way to the semi final, but they stumbled on the third hurdle. In emotional duel against SH-ITB Budaörsi Sport Club, Hungarian team halted their dream. The quality was on the Hungarian side, but it was hard for Sabina SURJAN to play against the teammates from Serbia's club.
