Ovtcharov is the number-1-seed, Jha 2nd at the Düsseldorf Masters, Part 2

After the successful premiere of the new tournament series "Düsseldorf Masters“ with Timo BOLL as the winner, the series will continue with the part 2 on Monday and Tuesday, 8/9 June.

 

Compared to the first tournament, there will be a great number of new players due to the Bundesleague play-offs in the same week, including USA’s number 1 Kanak Jha as well as some members of the German national youth team like the winner of the 2019 Europe Youth Top 10, Kay STUMPER.

 

TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen's future player JHA is the 2nd seed after former World Cup champion Dimitrij OVTCHAROV. DANG Qiu and Ecuadorian Alberto MINO are the numbers 3 and 4 of the seeding list. The opening match on Monday at 9:30 a.m. will Tobias HIPPLER versus Felix KÖHLER. After that, all further matches of the 1st round will be played „followed by" on Monday. The quarter finals and semi finals as well as the final on take place on Tuesday.

 

The series, which will be held almost weekly at the ARAG CenterCourt from June to August, is intended to give the German national players, the players of Borussia Düsseldorf and the players of the training group at the German Table Tennis Centre in the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, Düsseldorf, match practice.

 

The tournament, which is organized by Borussia Düsseldorf with the support of the DTTB, will be held over two days in the first two weeks. From the third week of the tournament on, the Düsseldorf Masters will be played on three days. The format is a knock-out system with up to 16 participants. The series ends with a final tournament with 8 players, for which the athletes have to qualify or are admitted through a wildcard.

 

All matches of the Düsseldorf Masters will be broadcasted live with 3 cameras on sportdeutschland.tv, Borussia TV and tischtennis.de. Spectators on site are not allowed because of the corona pandemic.
