LIN Yun-Ju replaces CHUANG Chih-Yuan in Fakel Gazprom Orenburg
In the Table Tennis Champions League Men, Fakel Gazprom Orenburg reached semi final before Pandemic halted all sports activities. Russia was not excluded from the global threat, and had to go through lock down.
The international line up of Fakel Gazprom Orenburg as well as domestic forces, are back in venues now.
"All players of the TTC Fakel-Gazprom Orenburg have been in self-isolation for the last two months as well as many athletes in the world. They were engaged in physical training at home. Dimitrij OVTCHAROV continued his intensive training sessions in the playing hall as soon as German Government allowed professional players to train. Marcos FREITAS, Vladimir SAMSONOV, Alexey LIVENTSOV and Denis IVONIN have also already started their training sessions," said Vice-President and head coach Victor ANDREEV.
There will be no semi finals in the ETTU Club competitions, but Fakel Gazprom Orenburg still have to finish the season in the Russia's League.
If the Champions League competition is stopped at the Semi-Finals stage, the Russian Premier League championship is suspended for the time being after the third round. It remains to hold the fourth round and the Super final. After the third round, TTC Fakel-Gazprom is the sole leader, having won all the matches. The question of the resumption or the termination of the Russian championship will be decided in the nearest future.
For the next season, the plans of the TTC Fakel-Gazprom remain the same.
"We want to win the European Champions League, the Russian championship and the National Cup. LIN Yun-Ju - an 18-year-old world-class player (No. 7 in the ITTF ranking), the first number of the Taiwan national team will play in our club from July 1. He will play in the team instead of CHUANG Chih-Yuan."
