Titles for Saint Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod in Russia

Russian National championships team's events concluded

 

Teams of Saint Petersburg and the Nizhny Novgorod region won the gold medal at the championship of Russia 2020. The men's team of the northern capital, led by junior Vladimir SIDORENKO, regained the title of the country's strongest team, defeating the team of the Nizhny Novgorod in the final.

 

Note that Saint Petersburg players managed to recover after being down 0: 2. Points were won by Nikita ARTYOMENKO, Vyacheslav BUROV, and SIDORENKO, who confidently won the decisive meeting. Republic of Tatarstan and Moscow clinched bronze medals.

 

The women's team of the Nizhny Novgorod won the gold medals of the Russian Championships on the sixth attempt, having outplayed rivals from the Samara Region in the decisive match.

 

The key player of the match was Maria DOLGIKH, who brought her team two points, including one decisive against Valeria SHCHERBATYKH. Moreover, DOLGIKH was down in decider  0:2, but she managed not only to level the score but also to take the decisive set. We also note the difficult and beautiful victory of 16-year-old Elizabeth ABRAAMYAN over her teammate of the youth national team of Russia Ekaterina ZIRONOVA.
