Chania hosts the Greek champions for the second consecutive year

The time has come for the biggest event in Greek table tennis. The National championship for men and women takes place this weekend in Chania. Just like last year, the beautiful city of Crete and the municipal indoor gym of Kladissos host it, and this is a special feature because it hosts the institution for the second time in a row. The event is therefore also a festive tone, after all. Chania is a club with a huge tradition in table tennis and really embraces such events.

About 70 athletes and athletes from 32 clubs in the country will take part. As every year, there will be some very important absences, but other top names are ready to rewrite history and have great moments. This year's championship is also dedicated to the memory of Pera Athens and a member of the administration of HTTF for many years Damon DAMIANIDIS.

In the singles event Konstantinos KONSTANTINOPOULOS and Katerina TOLIOU will try to defend their titles from 2018 and 2019. In men's singles the current champion will compete with Tasos RINIOTIS, Konstantinos AGGELAKIS and of course his brother George KONSTANTINOPOULOS. George STAMATOUTOS, Dimitris PAPADIMITRIOU and Nikos ANTONIADIS can create surprises. From this year's event, the three times European Champion in youth ages Ioannis SGOUROPOULOS and the great Kostas LAGOGIANNIS will be missing. Unfortunately there are the permanent absences of Kallinikos KREANGA and Panagiotis GIONIS.

The women's singles event is also predicted strong and competitive. TOLIOU has the first word, but can be competitive against her players like Konstantina PARIDI, Christina FILI and Maria CHRISTOFORAKI. They can also have a dynamic presence, Georgia ZAVITSANOU, Dimitra TSEKOURA, Olga GEORGOPOULOU, Alice KIOUFI or the younger Elisavet TERPOU, Malamatenia PAPADIMITRIOU and Ioanna GERASIMATOU.
