European Games 2019 Minsk
Sweden is in the final of the Men’s Team’s Event at the European Games 2019 in Minsk. They halted the progress of fantastic Danish team and they will meet Germany on their way to the top spot at the medal rostrum.
Jon PERSSON and Kristian KARLSSON overcame Anders LIND and Tobias RASMUSSEN in the opening doubles match (11-5, 12-10, 11-6) to give Sweden the lead.
“We moved very good. We were very aggressive. In second game they had 10-8 lead, but we were better in the finish,” explained PERSSON.
Jonathan GROTH beat Mattias FALCK (11-9, 11-6, 10-12, 11-7) to put Denmark back on tracks. He played like he is in fire, which he did every time in past eight days.
“I felt I could beat him in the opening game, I had a good chance, but he was very aggressive and very confident. He is playing unbelievable table tennis here,” said FALCK
KARLSSON overcame RASMUSSEN (11-6, 11-8, 11-7) in great style.
“I am very happy with the outcome of the game also with the level of my performance. I was also in good shape yesterday, but PUCAR had remarkable recovery. Today everything was right,” said KARLSSON.
FALCK concluded the match by beating LIND (11-5, 8-11, 11-5, 11-5).
“LIND has very difficult spins and I prepared well for him. He is not easy player to beat. I was aggressive from the beginning,” explained FALCK.
