Belgium beat Romania in the last match in Groups A

Still fresh from the 2018 World Junior Table Tennis Championships in Bendigo, Australia, bronze medalist Cristian PLETEA failed to help Romania to beat Belgium in the last match in Group A in the first phase of the ITTF-European Championships Teams. In the Romanian National TV Studio in Bucharest guests prevailed in four matches.

 

Florent LAMBIET gave Belgium a dream start with the victory over Cristian PLETEA, whilst Cedric NUYTINCK widened the gap after the victory over Ovidiu IONESCU. Hunor SZOCS beat Robin DEVOS to keep the hosts hopes alive, but for short. NUYTINCK overcame PLETEA in the last duel.

 

Belgium beat Romania in May in straight matches. Slovenia also scored in both their matches.
