Luxembourg`s double success in San Marino

2017 Games of the Small States of Europe in San Marino
Fourth day of the 2017 Games of the Small States of Europe in San Marino was reserved for doubles events. Both gold medals belonged to the representatives of Luxembourg. Egle TAMASAUSKAITE and Tessy GONDERINGER are crowned champions in the Women`s Doubles event, while Traian CIOCIU and Dragos-Dan OLTEANU won Men`s Doubles.
TAMASAUSKAITE and GONDERINGER won all their matches 3:0, beating Montenegro in the final clash. After close duel in the group stage against Montenegro (3:2), CIOCIU and OLTEANU managed to finish both, semi-final and final matches in straight games.
Men`s Doubles Semifinals: Damien PROVOST / Anthony GENINIANI (Monaco) – Luka BAKIC / Filip RADOVIC (Montenegro) 2:3 (15:13, 11:8, 6:11, 6:11, 7:11), Traian CIOCIU / Dragos-Dan OLTEANU (Luxembourg) – Guiliano VANUCCI / Lorenzo RAGNI (San Marino) 3:0 (11:3, 11:7, 11:8). Final: Luka BAKIC / Filip RADOVIC (Montenegro) – Traian CIOCIU / Dragos-Dan OLTEANU (Luxembourg) 0:3 (9:11, 4:11, 7:11).
Women`s Doubles Semifinals: Egle TAMASAUSKAITE / Tessy GONDERINGER (Luxembourg) – Letizia GIARDI / Chiara MORRY (San Marino) 3:0 (11:5, 11:5, 11:7), Snezana CULAFIC / Ivona PETRIC (Montenegro) – Georgia AVRAAM / Konstantina MELETIE (Cyprus) 3:1 (10:12, 11:6, 11:4, 13:11). Final: Egle TAMASAUSKAITE / Tessy GONDERINGER (Luxembourg) – Snezana CULAFIC / Ivona PETRIC (Montenegro) 3:0 (11:4, 11:9, 13:11).
